Why not? When you've got nothing to lose.............

I would hope that breach of a court order would result in arrest and jail time until bail posted! Well, it should in this case.Driver caught and charged twice in same day for driving while suspended last year, convicted May 2023. Caught again today DRIVING while suspended

I've seen men, women, young, old, various races, etc all represented in the multiple suspension/dui crowd. It is definitely not an exclusive club. With full stats, maybe there is some group that is over-represented but the problem is broad enough that we need a change in overall enforcement/justice to protect us from those out of control idiots. It would be very interesting to know the demographic of these repeat offenders. It seems having road knowledge, drivers license, insurance is all optional to a certain portion of our population.

I suspect most of the offenders have the same excuse. "I have to get to __________".I've seen men, women, young, old, various races, etc all represented in the multiple suspension/dui crowd. It's called entitlement - a disease that's far too prevalent right across society.IMO there's a portion that know it's wrong but do it anyway and a portion that thinkthoseany rules don't apply to them.
Hell, all of those make moving without a car a nightmare. Politicians like to talk and new subdivisions may have a shortcut or two but good planning for walkability would have a pedestrian connection anywhere that could save a few blocks of walking (as people won't walk that far). Most corners in a road could benefit from a walkway to the adjacent street. You'd lose a few lots per subdivision (or make the lots a few inches narrower). My BIL is in a crescent. You can see the kids school and a park from his house. <200' if you could go direct. Walking is ~five blocks each way.To get away from side streets becoming busy thoroughfares city planners years ago started laying out Cozy Crescents, Meandering Mews, Lovely Lanes, ignoring that things would change and that all those quaint streets would be a public transit nightmare.
Cutting through backyards was a standard shortcut in Parkdale. Not every homeowner was forgiving.Hell, all of those make moving without a car a nightmare. Friends recently lived in a subdivision where that was still accepted. Normal small lots breed fences which kills this concept. And dirtbags. I don't want randoms wandering everywhere on my property. Some things are out of sight, out of mind.Cutting through backyards was a standard shortcut in Parkdale. Not every homeowner was forgiving.
The answer IMO is mutual respect. Respect has been replaced by fear and being materially impressed. There is a concept of the four pillars of sentencing with respect to a "justice" system:
Retribution
Deterrence
Incapacitation
Rehabilitation
The issue is our legal system (no way it should be called a justice system as justice does not exist) has totally lost its way on pretty much all of the above. In this context the last three are completely thrown out the window and the first is extremely weak. We see repeat suspended license offenders as there is little to any real deterrence. Catch and release (and no jail time on convictions) does not prevent them from immediately re-offending and of course forget the last one.
The person has dug a giant hole and society has given them no reason to not just keep digging.
Respect for whom? The answer IMO is mutual respect. Respect has been replaced by fear and being materially impressed.
I don't know if many of the trouble makers would understand respect. It might be so foreign to them they would think it's a con of some sort.
Mutual respect. I respect that you got up a few minutes earlier than me and are ahead of me in traffic. You respect that I, along with others, have schedules so you don't drive down the 400 at 25 KPH to enjoy the fall colours.Respect for whom?
Also, sadly, "trouble makers" that continuously drive drunk/suspended/uninsured that get caught without being involved in a collision would mostly see it as a victimless crime and that they are being persecuted. If they could recognize the danger/consequences of their actions, they would likely change their behavior.
Mutual respect would of course first start with not cutting through backyards in Parkdale... mutual respect for other people's property. The answer IMO is mutual respect. Respect has been replaced by fear and being materially impressed.

Drunk driving is a special case. Over simplified, alcoholism is a disease and it isn't a crime to be sick. Expand from there. You can't punish me for being sick.
8 Billion people on the planet and if everyone was at peace with the others it would work until just one individual wanted just a little more than he deserved. Then it becomes a chain reaction.Mutual respect would of course first start with not cutting through backyards in Parkdale... mutual respect for other people's property.
In reality if at anytime in history it truly existed in humanity there would have been no wars, no crime.... not that some people don't have respect but when we teach people there are no repercussion/consequences to their actions things will just continue to decay---that is what we see today at many criminal levels.
