The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Amazing how much money you have to throw at stupid stuff when you don't play by the rules of society, isn't it?

Is the cost of getting the vehicle out of impound a couple times a year higher or lower then the cost of fixing it properly and paying for insurance with a dog **** driving record?

The cost of the tow is worth more than the car

Even if true, the tow truck mafia has you by the short and curlies. The storage clock keeps running and they will send you to collections. They don't care what the car is worth, they only care about maximizing their legalized extortion. Now, that is a reasonable argument for paying for insurance and not operating a vehicle that looks like a steaming pile so you don't get towed everytime a cop talks to you but I suspect this person would have really expensive insurance.

Depends on whether that dog **** driving record would require $10K insurance premiums.

Wow. I figured the SUV was at fault by merging too slowly. I did not expect them to be attempting a U-turn. Glad the truck got them and they didn't kill innocent victims. I feel bad for the truck driver.

Someone on twitter said they saw the girls Instagram posts earlier in the evening partying it up at a club. Good chance some substances were clouding her vision sadly.

Truck previously towed off the road for being unsafe. Still using it with a random license plate on it

They should quarantine unfit vehicles seized on the road. Something similar to bonded warehouses when crossing the border. They can release to a tow company/mechanic but the person that takes it is responsible for ensuring compliance prior to it making it into public space. A mechanic won't risk their license and let crap roll out (or if they do, they won't have a license to risk and won't be able to get the next truck out of gov't custody).

The people she ran over were two special needs adults and their caretaker. All three still in Toronto trauma centres.

This is quite disheartening, highly probable off duty officer behind the wheel, or friend of responding officer? Officer didn't even care to see the video. Would have loved to see roadside sobriety test.

Edit, at 1.22 of this video as well.

DUI, or distracted driving. Same difference with regard to symptoms.
