When my wifes diff was going, maybe I should have run a dashcam and done a few laps of the roundabout. A hit in the rear wheel could hurt the diff. Not at fault so no deductible.
Your first thought upon seeing Swindon's 'magic roundabout' might be: man, the Brits have really lost the plot lately. But this thing—which is actually...
Totally agree about them being better for 4 wheeled traffic. But the number of pedestrians killed and or injured is disturbing. People are in too much of a hurry to get in and simply don't see pedestrians.
That would help somewhat in Milton (67%-ish). Right turn at the signal enabled roundabout would be treated the same as a normal 4 way intersection with lights. Don't bother looking to see if any cars are coming from the left and slow down just enough to maintain traction while making the turn. Pro Tip: you can carry much more cornering speed making a right on a red onto a road with 2 lanes or a turn 'n merge lane by drifting directly into the left lane on exit.
403 today near burlington. A hard left from the right shoulder across the ramp and bullnose to try to make it to live lanes. Smoked by a truck. I feel bad for the truck driver. Car driver deserves a reset to g1. Is this a Corolla again? Boo.

G1? I don't think this person is redeemable.
If your brain works in such a way that this was an option at all, let alone in front of a truck, you should not be on the road.
I doubt they could use a bus safely.

Another tractor trailer hit and run. This time fatal. From the description It sounds like if they had stayed they wouldnt have been charged for this crash. What else was so wrong that it was worth running? Hit and runs are becoming an epidemic. Something needs to be done in the judicial system. The hammer needs to be far bigger and unavoidable. Hopefully compass cams can figure out this dbag.
I dont think it will be long before stationary alpr permeates the gta. They will use crap like this as the impetus. Capture every vehicle on a road, dump data in 30 days.

This is how you turn a short chat with police into a criminal charge. Being the person who hits someone because of the actions of another driver isn't illegal. Leaving the scene of a collision involving a fatality is.

The only thing that makes sense is major issues unrelated to the impact (vehicle defects, improper license, DUI, no insurance, Hours of service, stolen trailer/contents, etc). Driver will probably argue panic but that statement should be sufficient for a careless conviction. If you are so upset that you can't make good decisions and then decide to start driving your stopped vehicle you are obviously not in a reasonable headspace to operate the vehicle.

Careless is a tough one for them to prove, as any good lawyer or paralegal will likely tell you. The bar is pretty high. On the other hand leaving the scene of a collision involving a fatality is pretty black and white, and the driver almost certainly knew that was the case, given that they stopped.

New dui laws cleaned that up but made other issues. If you are over hours after the crash, you are guilty of DUI. You may legitimately have started drinking after the car was parked. Bryant is a pompous ass and should have rotted in jail. The fact that he was in charge of ccla and now legal aid shows that even lawyers know he is king of the scumbags.
I'm no Michael Bryant fan, but that's not quite how it happened. Yes, he left the immediate scene and stopped a short distance away. He then reported the incident, and his location, to police. We have to take police at their word that, for him, alcohol wasn't involved. There's more to this story, but I'm not at liberty to talk about it.
