Thank you Witnesses!!!

Had someone back into my bike last year at my local gym. I came out to a note that said " Sorry, was not strong enough to pick up your bike ". I could instantly see the scraps where A) They dropped it, and B) Dropped it again attempting to pick it up. No phone number or anything, ****** me off.

funny that you assume the driver was insured. My understanding is that there are a scary number of people out there without any paperwork at all.

it's true...it's something like 60/40....i remember hearing the stat in one of my meetings a few years ago...insane..

if the driver isn't insured and all goes well with the follow up investigation, i then get to take him to court...sigh...

It won't stop the people who get insurance, get the sticker, then cancel the insurance the following day though. The new plate scanners might put a dent into that, if they ever get the systems talking to each other.

You shouldn't have to do anything. Make sure you have "uninsured motorist" coverage and if so, your insurance company covers you and deals with the other driver and the courts. Just checked my policy and it's $15 a year. Might even be standard coverage.

It's been about 7 weeks...and IT'S a MIRACLE!!! I'm FINALLY getting my bike back!!

WOOOOOTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news chica! Glad you'll be back on two while there's still time to ride :)

What's the status of the person that hit the bike?

Unchanged - still a prick

Correctomondo!!

3 weeks after the incident, I received this email from the investigating officer stating that, he (the associate lawyer who hit my bike) was co-operating and therefore the crown attorney decided not to lay charges. sigh.

Could you inform his employer of his illegal activities??
