Thank you Witnesses!!!

he is his own employer...associate of his own firm.

Associates are employees ( otherwise he would be a partner or a owner.)
In any case, you may make a complaint to the Law Society of Upper Canada, but I am not sure what the outcome of that would be.

Doubtful that it would result in much of anything and it would be a good idea to secure supporting documentation, prior to submitting such a complaint. To my mind though, such obviously discreditable conduct SHOULD result in some form of censure.

Its hard to make any prediction on discipinary measures if any, especially without knowing what else is in that file. the level of consistancy on these kind of things is less than ideal though.

IMO...There's not much I can do...

I could file something against him to argue the decision, etc etc. However, I've completely lost faith in the judicial system. If it was anyone else...or someone with less knowledge or stature...I'm positive within the week charges would have been laid...

3 weeks and this guy doesn't respond to calls telling him he has to go into the local police department..when he finally does....nothing?...

Something doesn't sit right with me...and as far as I'm concerned it's all a corrupt pos and if I continue to fight, I'll just a) end up losing and b) end up worse for wear.

it's not worth it...I have my bike back...justice failed...life is still somehow good =)

What does the judiciary have to do with anything, it never got there.

read my post again.

It's always worth at least trying, when faced with scum like this. The only causes worth fighting for, are the 'lost' ones.

Rob...trust me...I had gone down the path, legal aid...police disputes...and yeah...basically was told on all fronts that since it's property damage and noone considers this a high priority.

Yes, it's true...I could pursue further...I have instructions from both police and my friend on how to fill out an application to appeal etc. etc. but was also advised...by some friends in legal, that since this guys a lawyer...it likely WON'T go anywhere..

I've wasted enough time and effort on this...I spent 4 weeks dealing with insurance, police, and lawyer(s). I now have my bike back. It's time to just ride, and enjoy what I have left of the season. I'll let karma take care of the rest.

he's a lawyer, he knows the system, it's just property damage and life goes on...don't dwell on it, it'll just burn you up more...karma will catch up to him...

The fact that he is a lawyer is all the more reason to pursue it. He of all people should know better. Go to LSUC.

I'd ride all the way from Niagara to attend this bike meet.

a true biker ;)

LOL....tempting...but no....my mama raised me better than that...
There's nothing wrong with that. You are not doing anything illegal or morally questionable....

maybe post his address here and we will have a Thursday night special on his front lawn :p

Thout I'd potential put in an immature comment :). After reading this, I feel that people caught attempting to steal a bike or be th cause of a hit and run, should just be beat on by a group of people for a good minute and then everyone walk away and everything is cool. Apparently violence isn't the answer, but what the he'll is these days with these kinda people all over the place? If a hit and run dude or a thief got his *** kicked by a group, wouldn't it be cool to put it into their minds that if they get caught, there is that potential for that kind of beating? Sorry for the additional thread hijack

If you beat people up... you are going to get arrested and probably go to jail... What is the problem with that exactly? You were given legal avenues and you are complaining that the obviously ridiculous and illegal one is going to result in people getting arrested? That has nothing to do with him being a lawyer btw.

Unless your point is that getting a group of people to beat someone up shouldn't be illegal in which case, nothing more need be said.

thing is the legal avenues have been said not to work, the cops won't press charges, she's been told not to bother using the system by people in the system...
