Thank you Witnesses!!!

Let us know what happens. I witnessed a car hit another car in a parking lot and drive away. Was writing a not to the driver of the car that was hit when she came out. Gave her the license plate number, vehicle and driver description. She reported it to the police and from what I can gather things will work out. She said the police wouldn't charge the other driver with hit and run and they said they didn't "notice" that they had hit anything.

Hope it all works out for you...

Sorry to hear that. Such a hassle but at least you know the pr*ck who damaged your bike will pay one way or another. Witnesses are great because they are bulletproof for your case because they have nothing to gain. I had good witnesses in a case and it made all the difference. If I saw something in the future, I would definitely take the time to help someone out. What goes around comes around!
Good luck

Well damn I'd witness for that too!!!

ahahahahah. i was thinking the same thing. lol

ill bet there were a lot of witnesses jumping out of windows.

you know..... just to be a good person and leave their number.... just in case. lol

Unlucky couple of days... you waisted your time at the MTO and now that you have your full M you get your bike knocked over! Hopefully your luck turns around soon!

Good thing you got witnesses!
Hope it all works out for you in the end.

My parked car got hit in a parking lot, had a witness and everything was on my side as for not paying a cent through insurance. Turned out anyway that the driver who hit me didn't want to go through insurance, paid me the quote I had gotten for repairs out of pocket.

Moral of story is, if you see stuff like this happen, help a person out and write down, video, take pics or whatever of an incident and be a witness.

Sushi,

I'm sorry to hear this happened, you've got terrible luck with Quinn. I'm glad to hear this time you WEREN'T involved in her going down (let's try to lay off that one and keep this thread out of TT)... It's crummy to see more damage to the bike, but you'll get her fixed, new parts from scumbag's insurance (new AFTERMARKET stuff). I'm glad the sliders did their job too, I figured this to be the case when I found them... Tell me who hit her when you find out;I dislike abusive people and if it's a dude would like to remove a few of his teeth the old fashioned way.

Good luck ma'am!

Luckily, I work for an insurance company LOL...so I know that getting the names and numbers of the witnesses and description of the driver were very important pieces of information to put in a 0% no fault claim. I believe this will go under my Comp coverage, so all is good. The driver however, if he doesn't come clean to a collision centre by 9pm tonight will be charged with 'leaving the scene of an accident' and I believe "carelessness", because he actually got out of the vehicle, looked at my bike, then got back in and left.

It's a hassle, but again, i know how lucky i was to have had witnesses.

ps. I love my tank pad too...that's the girl I get to ride everytime =)

actually since you have his plate # and witnesses this should go under your DCPD coverage.
hit and run where the driver is unidentifiable goes under your collison coverage subject to your deductible.
I also work for an insurance company so im not talking out my *** :)

*hugs* your sliders totally saved the new fairings...*phew for that*
I'll let you know once they find him...I had to remove my post on fb last night because it was "chargeable" I'm not allowed to list his plate or physical description...funny how that works...he can go around hitting bikes for target practice and I don't get to publicize my anger and public hunt...*shrug*

I'm fairly sure the exhaust was somehow damaged too...lol....akra???

That's what my bro-in-law said too, but the broker put it under collision *scratches head* I guess that's how they have to do the initial report as i couldn't provide her with third party info?

You're likely a UW/UA...so admittedly more knowledgeable than myself...I'm just a systems specialist...only know business through tech =) Thanks for letting me know though..when claims and adjuster get in contact with me I'll find out what it's been classified as...

Yeah, take down the photo with the note in Picasa as well. It has the plate #... If they find said idiot I'd like to have a chat. Glad they did their job too. Best/most thoughtful gift I've ever bought!

I'm thinking Leo... But yeah, can't go wrong with an Akra... lol

Not to hijack this thread (sorry) , but I do have a Duc but it's white. I've never seen a silver one around here?

I was so surprised to get that call from you last night, I am so glad you had witnesses, but that was such a jerk move on the guy who hit yous part....I would have been livid...but thank goodness for some great witnesses that were willing to step up!

Hoping you get your bike fixed up real soon, that way we can meet up!!

ya once they get the info the coverage should change. even if it stays as collison it will go as a not at fault and you shouldnt have to pay your deductible.

LOL...Yeah I'm sorry I couldn't take you to BB...I'm hoping some of the boys were able to meet you and get you there safely. Happy B-day again...Didn't mean to shock you, just didn't want you waiting around for no reason last night =)

It was extremely nice of you to call and let me know considering your unplanned for circumstances. Thanks for the Bday wishes...I did make it there fine and ended up meeting up with some great ladies from GTAM as well.....hoping to catch you there or ride out with you there another time when your all fixed up :)

I'm just wondering if you can get a shop to work on it ASAP and then just present the bill to your insurer.. Since the parts would have to be rushed, the bill could get pretty hefty and his insurer would have to cover it
