Thank you Witnesses!!!

he backed up into my bike from the right side, the driver didn't leave that note. that was a witness that taped it to my bike LOL

What I meant was that the licence plate is on display to the internet.. don't think that's a good thing for you... just as Lucy mentioned below!

Yeah, take down the photo with the note in Picasa as well. It has the plate #... If they find said idiot I'd like to have a chat. Glad they did their job too. Best/most thoughtful gift I've ever bought!

I'm thinking Leo... But yeah, can't go wrong with an Akra... lol

+1 with Leo!! I love my carbon fiber Leo cans.. :D

LOL..yeah i know i couldn't delete it for whatever reason so I cropped it.

I'm just wondering if you can get a shop to work on it ASAP and then just present the bill to your insurer.. Since the parts would have to be rushed, the bill could get pretty hefty and his insurer would have to cover it

Can't do anything until the adjuster goes to look at it...sigh

That sucks to hear what happened, but fortunate that you have witnesses.

The one thing I hate more than anything in the world are people who can't take responsibility for their actions. Though my view may be a little skewed as I was the victim of a hit and run.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, sushi. Someone obviously put a hex on you. You need to contact some wizards, pronto!

Anyone know mister Potter?

2 months of boozing and calls himself an alcoholic? You need to find someone better, way way way way WAY better than that

Because it already is really bad chat porn.

Anything from police, regarding the hit & run aspect? 'Failure to remain' can be a pretty serious issue, that could screw with his insurance whether he makes a claim, or not ;)

He will get a call (if they have his number on file) or letter in the mail asking him to check into the closest station, he'll then have to write up the same collision report I did, they'll compare stories and investigate, only after this point will they determine if he is to be charged with any or none of the following:
1. failure to remain
2. careless driving (negligence)

I basically have to wait 7-9 days to find that out. As for the Claims portion I should know in a day or two.

I can't help but notice that you didn't mention putting on underwear first. *backs away slowly*

Underwear is for Sailors on shore leave who aren't smart enough to use a fake name. FTN!

Aw. Everyone took down the best pic in the thread. :snorting: :D

UPDATE:
Insurance: So far it's a collision claim as they have yet to "identify" the driver. What does this mean for me? no at fault...just that there may be a deductible that I have to pay...at least from what "claims" has explained anyways...

The appraiser called yesterday, ...he'll have "his quote" ready for me on Monday, then i get to figure out where to have the bike towed to get fixed. It's currently sitting at my friend's auto shop...I had no idea where to bring it at 11pm at night. *shrug*. Can't move it until the appraiser gives me the quote though...sigh.

Out one week, and it was difficult enough caging it to L&L last night...frig...but my girl friend had a great ol' time socializing!! lol

Generally speaking it's best to get a bike shop to generate a list of the damaged items, and costs involved. Without that no appraiser is going to be able to generate a proper repair cost.

I know, but I asked if I could have the bike moved for a proper estimate and he said it would be a hassle etc etc. plan of action is to just wait for him to provide me with his list...move it...get a proper mechanic to look at it and quote it...then have that signed off by the claims dept. Keeping in mind the appraiser is from a third party company, I don't have to sign off/agree to/keep this appraiser. i can always ask for another if I feel he's being unfair.

Man this is a pain...and i'm in a cage...GRRRR

Much better than being in pain because of being run over by a car. Count your lucky stars and enjoy the fact that you aren't hurt by this accident. :)

Why does a rooster have no hands?

Because hens don't have underwear.

And to re-iterate, as I have a million times in person, AND on this forum, I feel very lucky to have had witnesses and to have NOT been on my parked bike at the time of the incident.

Don't get me wrong, the "it could've been worse" thing has crossed my mind...it always does...however it doesn't make a situation any less time consuming/frustrating by comparison. *shrug* It's still a pain to be dealing with this just because I parked my bike.
