Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Might have better luck showing up to Blocko with it, and just putting a For Sale sign on it.

Certainly wins the prize for using the same word so many times as to render it meaningless.
I wonder, did someone do all that work for him, or did he billet himself?

I can never understand why people feel they need to explain why they are selling. It really can't matter to the person who has to pay for it.

I just love it when they say 'moving to Europe / Asia' whatever...or need it gone this week/tonight etc...just open themselves out to low ball offers even though they state clearly 'no low ball offers accepted' lol

I saw that bike at L&L once. The owner should really part out the anodized goodies because no one is going to pay $6k for a used ninja 250.

The mix of colours is tacky to say the least... Candy green + Lime green + Orange + Gold = :puke:

Someone went a bit overboard with the bikers stuff.

#1 selling excuse: "no time to ride", the bike is cutting into their TV watching time.

On Autotrader there are these scam ads for R1s for $2500. They fish for your email. If you email them, a week later you get an email from a lovely woman selling an R6 for really cheap because she is being deployed to Afghanistan (cue violin music)...all she needs is you paypal account and password, maybe your PIN number, etc.
I wrote I could do this once my money comes in from the Spanish Lottery, half of which I invested in Sese Conseco's widow and the other half in Nigerian royalty. Big payoff coming...

All it takes is one sucker to respond and they get a good payday! Unfortunately too many people get duped because they are either ignorant, naïve, or just plain stupid.

lmfao! thanks for the heads up :laughing5:

This is common. They expect us to get on these things after they have been "rebuilt" , usually after adding thousands to the price, from a guy who doesn't know how to cut braided brake lines. The rest of the bike isn't street legal either (no mirrors). Maybe those front turn signals should be smaller and closer to the bright headlamp, nice match with the stealth black paint, because when you ride a bike, "stealth" is important.

There is a mirror on the clutch side dangling from the bar its blending in with the tank but you can see the arm on the bar.

too small. so the idea is to look all cafe cool while only running in counterclockwise circles?

Ahhh....so it's a moto-gymkhana bike after all.

Btw, is there a place to look up fair market value for bikes? Rather than guess from the listing on kijiji?

Ps - love how some ads say "adult owned" or "lady driver"

Listing won't help much, because people do really, really stupid things to their bikes. Rule of thumb, all the expensive stuff you add to a bike , is worth zero.
Custom paint will kill resale value.

I like the "all it needs is xxx to safety, but sold as is." Run, don't walk away,

"Project bike" = crap.

"needs minor work to certify" = crap.
