SOAR racer Daryl Ironmonger

I have every hope that he'll be laughing at us in no time! Be strong brother, we old farts have to be around for the newbies or they'll grow up with street smarts. Nancy and family, thanks for the updates and be strong, we are here if theres anything we can do!

Get well soon buddy, if there is anyone who is stubborn enough to fight thru this its you. we are all thinking of You, Nancy and your family at this time...xxoo Trina~~

Saw him again today at lunch time, has more color in him since the last I saw him last Sunday.

I've said it before but he is really blessed to have such a loving family surrounding him every minute of the day. They really are the nicest bunch of ppl you will ever meet.

Thanks for the good news J. Fingers crossed for them to keep comin' :)

Get well soon Daryl. You've got a heart of gold & I've never met a guy tougher than you-I know your going to get through this & I'm sending good thoughts your way!

Update on Daryl- Adversity really brings out the true nature of the human spirit! I am so amazingly proud of both my family...ALL of them! A special mention to my sister-in-laws, Nancy and Lori, Daryl doesn't know how lucky he is!

Daryl continues to hang in and fight the good fight! Today they removed the sensor and tube in his brain as the pressure has stayed consistent. He definitely has a lung infection and they combatting that with antibiotics. Yesterday they were concerned about his spleen bleeding and today it has stopped and appears to be healing on its own which is a great thing (miracle) as he is not up to another surgery right now. He is still sedated and resting.

We all take comfort in spending time with him and urging him to get well. Today I told him about all the comments, prayers and vibes people are sending his way. I'm sure he was smiling on the inside!

Thanks again to everyone for your love and support.

Amazing. Every time I get a Facebook update I'm excited to see it, not worried what it will say because i know it will be positive.
Keep fighting buddy. Sleep all you want now, you will need it for when we all drag your ass out to the track!
God bless you my man.
In my prayers.
Even little jaydon asked if your awake yet!

Friends as some of you may or may not know, on Friday September 6th 2013 Daryl Ironmonger while on his motorcycle, was struck by a motor vehicle that failed to remain on scene. Daryl was found without vital signs at the time of emergency crews arrival; however, was revived shortly after right before being air lifted to Sunnybrook Health Centre. Daryl has been in coma while his wonderful family has remained strong giving all his friends daily if not hourly reports keeping all of us updated on his condition.

As Daryl keeps fighting, it cannot be left unnoticed that his loved ones are also affected by this unfortunate incident. We are all helpless at a time like this but all we can do is support them with our love, prayers and donations to assist them in difficult times such as this.

I have set a humble goal of $1000.00 to reach, which if met, people can still donate as this campaign will allow over funding. Would love to help raise as much money as possible as all money raised minus PayPal and site fee's will be directly given to his family. I have spoken to Tracy directly and she advised on behalf of his family, they appreciate all the love & support thus far.

Please take a moment to share the campaign link with everyone who knows Daryl, as he is in our prayers and he is not alone in his fight!

More positive note from Tracy.

Update on Daryl- today Daryl is starting to look more like himself! He is less swollen and the nurse is going to give him a shave today so that will help.

The infection in his lungs is still present and is being treated. They've stopped a couple of other meds today. They are going to reduce his ventilator and sedation staring today so the next 24 hours or so will be important as we see how he responds.

Thanks again from all of us. Although I've been publishing the updates they are from the whole family. X

Great to hear, thanks for the updates, GWS Daryl.

[h=5]Update on Daryl- thought I'd give an early update today!

As everyone on 2 wheels knows, today is Friday the 13th, which is a special day for all bikers and bike enthusiasts. We hope you all have a great and safe day.

We have just been in to see Daryl and he is breathing on his own! They are providing oxygen support but all the medical staff and pleased and surprised that 2 days after diagnosing a lung infection he is ALREADY breathing on his own. They hope to reduce his meds today so he has a chance to wake up on his own. Can't wait to see his bright eyes!

We are very thankful to all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I told him to keep clenching that horse shoe he has! — feeling hopeful.

While i don't frequent GTAM very often, I have been hearing about Daryl from other sources. Glad to read some of the updates that have been put on here.

Hope he has a speedy recovery and can pull through this. I look forward to riding with him and pinky again at the track soon.

Get well soon buddy

Thanks for the update.
That is amazing news. I am so positive about this. I truly feel its not if it's when he wakes up. As stated above I'm excited to come to this thread as I feel it's always going to be good news.

We been praying for you buddy. Pinky is lonely so hurry up.

Update copied from Facebook:

Update on Daryl - I wish I had something momentous to report, but we are currently in a 'wait and see' holding pattern. Daryl is not slipping backward which is the most important thing and there are so many positive forward steps...
1. Breathing with only some assistance
2. Cuts and bruises healing
3. Swelling drastically reduced, including his head
4. Some movement of his feet, hands, shoulder and head
5. Most of his tubes being removed

We all sit in hope that he will start to come to. If you can will someone awake, I'm sure we can do that with Daryl. The emotional rollercoaster we are all on leaves everyone feeling drained but we keep bolster each other back up! I'm very proud to be part of this circle.

Thanks once more for your support and please keep praying! Xx

Thanks for the updates. Keep it up, Daryl! Big thanks go out to the medical staff, too!
