SOAR racer Daryl Ironmonger

Just posted by his wife on FB

hello everyone! It's Nancy.. I just wanted to "thank everyone' for all the support, caring words of wisdom and strength for Daryl's recovery. This is going to long road going forth for Daryl myself and all of his loving family! We will try our very best to try and keep everyone post dated and up to date! All we can tell you at the moment today is that when I first walked in to see Daryl this morning! I smiled immediately because I just felt so strongly that he looked so much better. I thought for sure he was just going to open his eyes up, look at me and say "what the hell am I doing here' again, that's 'our strong willed Daryl' as you all know him. I chuckled to myself just looking at him... We are hoping the best after speaking with the doctor who is on duty this week with him that hopefully tomorrow they will start to reduce some of this medication and eventually and slowly take him off the life support to see how he responds! Please everyone if you can continue your prayers for each and every single day for Daryl it would be greatly appreciated with all us! He is a true strong fighter and I keep telling him that his bike 'PINKY' is waiting for him and missing him! lol each day is a new day for Daryl and us and we will NOT GIVE UP this fight! God bless Daryl xoxoxoxo

Get well soon, Daryl! Never met you, but so many other people that I know and respect wishing you their best is a sign you must be a great man. My prayers go out to you!

Come on Daryl, I know you'll recover because you're determined to kick my butt at the track! Get well buddy! Pinky vs NAFTA (I have to tell you the story behind that name)!

get well soon Daryl.....you need to pull through, everyone is waiting for you.
now wake up and lets do a dessert night ..

Sending much healing energy to you, your family and friends, we were at Sunnybrook last night, with another friend, we wanted to come say hi, we stood outside the door, Goldie buzzed, we sent prayers and love to you all. Stay strong. :) :)

I hope things are still on the up and up

Other than what little was in the news, does anyone know what happened yet?

Wow very sad to hear this...hope you get better so you can get back to racing your pretty pink r6!

Another update from his family today.

The Dr.s took Daryl off the ventilator for a bit this morning and he was able to breath on his own (although very laboured) for a little bit. They put him back on the ventilator and are giving his body more time to rest and recover. They have also noticed today that he has quite a severe lung infection, so they are aggressively treating that.

We continue to hope and believe that every day is a gift and will hang on to every positive sign we get. I know that he is in there fighting like no one else could!

I saw this quote today and thought instantly of Daryl...I'm sure those of you that know him will agree it is fitting.

"Have hope,
Be strong,
Laugh loud and play hard,
Live in the moment,
Smile often and dream big!
Remember you are loved and never give up!!"

Thanks Jay. I just saw what happened and I am in shock. I agree this isnt the forum for it. Fingers crossed for the Ironmonger family.

Heal up buddy!!!

Hi All, my name is Lori and I am Daryl's ex-wife. I wanted to register on the site just so I could let you all know how much your thoughts, prayers and well wishes to Daryl and his family are so appreciated. You are certainly a group of exceptional individuals who Daryl loves to be around and ride with. Racing has become his passion and we know that one day he will be back at it kicking all your butts to take the checkered flag!!! Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts and please keep praying for "Big D".

Thanks for your kind words Lori. Please let Daryl know we're rooting for him and hope to see him back up and running ASAP.

Get well soon fellow rider. So many accidents this year. Even though I never met the rider this news affects us all.
