Shopping list for 2013 track season

FYI Rafiki:

If you ever to get a full system or would like a Dyno tune... find someone who knows how to tune using the Yosh Box (Ryan Gill does, was/is he at Pro6? Don't know for sure). But he can tune it using the Yosh Box and do an awesome job for you. It would be cheaper than spending the $400-$500 for a Bazazz or PC with Autotune (basically making changes on the ECU and don't need fuel management hardware). So if you ever find a deal on a Yoshimura system, that's a good cost effective way to get performance.

I actually still have the ecu from my 07 gsxr 600 that Ryan Gill tuned and dyno'd for me in 2009 at Rider's Choice. Don't know if you'd be interested in buying from me, but i'll put it up for sale since I have no use for it anymore.

Ideally ya. You could add some adhesive heat shield to to the inside of the belly pan too. Moose Racing makes some. Any shop can order it, its fairly cheap.

Xtina just put a Danmoto on her gixxer after her cat melted her new track bodywork, fast shipping, cheap price, sounds sexy: http://www.dan-moto.com/DM_INT/gsx-r-600-750-k6-k7-2006-2007-gp-carbon-product-192.html

my 08 gixxer 600 collecter touches the bottom fairing. Moose Racing heat shiled dos the job perfectly. Double layer it if theres physical contact. Royal Distributing had it in stock when i bought it.

I put a Danmoto pipe on my k7 gixxer. Does the job and only $110.

The stock cat melted and burned my belly pan after just 2 tds.

Edit: Jamie beat me to it.

WOOT! :D

Holy crap, you guys rock:)
pm sent Sunny.

Adding 1-peice suit that fits me to my list:)

My advice would be to go the January bike show and try lots of suits on. Different brands fit differently, odds are you will be able to find one that fits you well.

I dunno if you saw or not but Jimmy at Velocity is running a group buy deal on his guys n girls suits! http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?165015-Velocity-VR-Pro-Custom-Suit-Group-Buy

I did see but it's out of my price range at the moment.

Sleeves and legs can be shortened fairly easily. If you can find one that fits well in the shoulders and torso you can tweak it from there.

PM Sunny again. She and Drew can do leather alterations. See if they have any advice.

True, wasn't even thinking about altering a shelf suit. Thanks.

Or ask Sunny/Drew if they have any used for sale that might fit you and alter that. They have a sanitizer and wash their suits really damn good.

After seeing what those custom suits go for... I'd prefer to go with a bigger name with some alterations.

I'm lucky enough that my Arlen Ness suit fits me perfectly and I paid less for it than those custom suits are selling for in a group-buy. I have crashed in it 3 times in it and I'm still planning on using it next year. I believe Z1 carries Arlen Ness now, they're huge in Europe but not so much in NA. Slide by if you're in the neighbourhood.

I did, no luck.

Cool, didn't even know Z1 has suits. I'll check it out.

In that case there are a lot of shops in the US clearing out their 2012 suits to make room for the 2013's. A friend just picked up a smokin teknic suit for $350 from http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4934 and he took it to Bickle for alterations and now the thing is like a full out custom fit suit! :)

See above for Bickle. That's where Xtina had her suit modified to fit her girly bits properly.

I know a lot of people happy with Bickle's work... he's awesome when I had him check out my Tire Warmers...

But Sunny and Drew are at any and every track whenever they can. Nationals/CSBK/SOAR... and they're pretty much exclusive on leather work and vinyl stuff. It's basically, put your suit on their rack and they'll get to it... if you need it expedited, they'll do it as needed based on WHEN it's needed, not WHO asked for it.

Patch work can vary from store to store... so it's nice to know you're giving it to someone who did the work and knows how to tailor it again without asking "how or why was it put on like this?"

They repaired my suit 2-3 times, and even a few quick fixes here and there that I didn't even ask for (like re-stitching my name and cleaning the suit).

Even if the armour on the knees doesn't line perfectly with your knees when tucked?

My armour is all held in with velcro, it can be adjusted. My old Joe rocket stuff was in mesh pockets so in that case I'd say check how the armour is held in place.

Jamie, Xtina, you're right---fast shipping, cheap price, and..fast refund! ;)

Here's my experience with Danmoto (with pictures), which I posted earlier this year: http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=331908
