RIM Playbook. Limited sale... $200

Ohhhhh, dont you worrry......... the good ole "Bank of Canada" will rescue their butt's if need be.....

There is no way the cdn gov will let them sink that easily.

I think one of the Reasons the govt bailed out the automakers was to save the 40000 or more pensions. Rim doesn't have many retirees.
The actual number of active employees is a fraction of the number of auto retirees.

Oof. Wife doesn't know if she even has a blackberry id, Rogers set her phone up for her years ago, when she called Rogers, they gave her a RIM email address which she sent a message to two days ago. Still no response. Can't find a support phone number for them anywhere. So right now the playbook is brickware.

I'm missing something here. You have two options when setting up the tablet; if you don't have a BlackBerry ID, you simply create one when you get to that part of the setup. If you don't want an ID, you just swipe the screen to go to the next step. All the BlackBerry ID does is allow you to shop at the App World, there's no other purpose for it. And if you do have an old ID but can't remember it, just create a new one.

EDIT: Have been using my PlayBook on my road trips since I got it at Xmas, it works great! My laptop is now permanently docked on the desk in my den.

so sad, the replies to a useless quest.

what am i missing, i went to telus, they have $299 for their playbooks...where is this $149? is it a buy a smartphone/plan and be able to buy a playbook for $149?

Its the 16 and 32 gig for $149 @ Telus, skipped the long line and went to Futureshop with the Telus ad off the website. Got the 32 gig + 5% discount for price match. Burlington store had pile of them.

at $149 I'm pretty happy!

Very wise move.

Here is why Telus is blowing them out....

Notice, the "no returns"? At least with FS/BB, you have the option to return if need be.

I called future shop Hamilton, acquaintance knows manager. Apparently when Telus posted the product as dead product and delisted it, the policy to price match died with it.
I picked up mine at store opening Thursday am in Burlington, by noon the deal had been pulled.
