Riding during stay at home order.

Rode 300kms roundtrip to my favourite Lunch and Butter Tart spot today. Got to keep them in business. Rosemont General Store. 50 / Asphalt 50 / Dirt.
Is this thread still about riding during COVID Stay at Home?

seen many 8-10 rider groups in tight formation. You would think during the Stay @Home order, riders would try to stay low key and not draw attention?

Agreed. There will be tickets eventually...and much outcry because of the horrible "injustices".

Woohoo. They are predicting ICU crested at 884 and should be dropping slowly. We didn't hit triage threshold. Make your own decisions on riding but there's a good chance you get treatment if you need it.

It is also now expected that anyone 18+ will be able to book a vaccine appointment starting 24 May. Not necessarily vaccinated by that date, certainly not vaccinated + 2 or 3 weeks to wait for it to kick in by that date ... but it means it is foreseeable that the situation will be getting better.

good employers do care. Between the labour board and the health and safety board, unions are not needed.
What planet do you work on?

And just out of curiousity do think we would have either of those two organizations if wasn't for unions? They're there because of bad employers.

I listened to the entirety of the announcement today. What I take away is that the provincial government is all "rah rah, we're doing great, we're on our way out of this" while the doctors are cautiously optimistic, but are more realistic....that this is going to go on for another few months at least before we get to some semblence of normalcy. Assuming we don't get into a wave 4, which they said wasn't out of the realm of possibilities.

I'm not holding out much hope for our May 24'th long weekend camping trip, lets put it that way.

Lots more vaccines on the horizon though. 18 and up by the end of May is a great sign.

I live on the planet where it’s not 1930 anymore and we have the labour board and the health and safety board and unions just suck money out of their members and keep the union heads rich and do nothing for companies or for the employees.

So not this one?

Thing is, over time laws have evolved to provide decent rights and protections to workers.

In Canada, PSUs are one of the biggest challenges. They are somewhat responsible for the bloated govt workforce (about 1 in 5 Canadians is a govt employee).

Unions fight for less work more pay theses days, the reverse productivity argument. This often kills opportunity for many to benefit a few. Just look at auto and heavy manufacturing losses in Ontario over the last 20 years.

Unionization rates in Canada are 25% higher than the G7 average, and for govt employees the margin is more than double.

it’s time for RTW and reforming bargaining rules that keep govt in the private sector work arenas.

I believe RTW is the thin edge of the wedge. I think of it more as the right to work for less.

So not this one?
Great detailed intelligent answer . Shouldn’t you be holding up signs supporting the unions at the Montreal dock stopping all the essential goods from coming in during a pandemic, if you love Unions so much?

Should you be down there working as a scab if you hate them so much? Don't look at me this is your idea of an intelligent answer.

I already have a job thanks and the government did a back to work order so all the lazy union slobs can get their ass back in gear. Your bias is hilarious by the way you kiss the butt of the response from MadMike but start arguing with me when I say the same stuff. You forgot to ask him what planet he lives on.

I thought Mike made a coherent argument and was warranted that respect.

Yes that’s what I said ....biased butt kissing...aka your thoughts... if you read what I said originally that you responded to and what he said , his answer is just longer but he said the same thing in similar terms. You just can’t control your bias
