Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Hobbit 2 was a definite improvement over the first one.. They overdramatized a few things and "added" to the book (wtf was the deal with the elf chick?!), but the action sequences rocked. Definitely wasn't a waste of cash.

Orcs - Low budget go to town on the orcs with guns movie.. Fun to watch if you're gun nut who also likes the fantasy genre lol

Underworld 4 - Not a bad continuation of the series, caught it on Netflix

Sharknado - You REALLY gotta be baked to enjoy that one and it's been a while since I've been in that state. Watched it out of morbid curiosity

"Lone Survivor"
Really good movie about a soldier's survival. Based on a true story, wasn't just American Ho Rah. Its about a soldier's trials & tribulations as he tried to survive the taliban.

Intelligence is a pretty good tv show. I enjoyed the concept and execution of the show. They didn't fudge it up yet.

Watched Out of the Furnace. A bit slow at first but a decent movie. Woody does a great job playing the evil SOB protagonist.

I saw 47 Ronin last week. Was looking forward to it, love the genre and it could have been great, but it really flopped. I guess thats why there were only 2 other people in the theatre besides myself.

I really enjoyed the Hobbit movie, much better then the first despite all the things they changed from the books. I made sure to see it in regular movie format, not the 48fps. I watched the first Hobbit in 3D at 48fps and it took the entire movie just trying to get used to it, I did not like it one bit.

Wolf of Wallstreet - rather long with two dry parts but all in all a very entertaining movie with a lot of laughs.

American Hustle - excellent movie.

Frozen - a bit too much singing but still good and with lots of adult jokes.

Lone Survivor - see Rockerguy's opinion as I agree.

It seems that Hollywood just can't do that genre. It either has to come out of Hong Kong or Japan. The closest that they came was the "Kill Bill" franchise but that was Tarantino, who is a true fan.

Lone Survivor: vivid and brutal depiction of a gun fight gone very bad for a 4 man squad and QRF, gut wrenching scenes and memorial epilogue...yet inspiring.

Rush. Wasn't expecting much from a F1 movie but it was very well done. It's a dramatization focusing on the "drama" bit so if you're looking for something more documentary-style I'm told Senna is the one to watch (haven't seen it yet).

I didn't find it all that gut-wrenching or inspiring, but it was a pretty good action movie based on true events.

More of a Documentary style look at James Hunt would be When Playboys Ruled the World.

Back when Motorcycle racing was dangerous and sex was safe.

Its actually a great doco, saw it a while ago as Barry Sheene was loved in Aus, was surprised at the Hunt story too.

Christian Bale did a great job in American Hustle, Bradley Cooper on the other hand, i dunno, he was great in Limitless, not so much in this one.

Dallas Buyers Club was a well done movie and Matthew McConaughey does an amazing job. Its scary seeing him the first time when hes that thin.

I think hes trying to show himself as a serious actor, not just a cute face like he was in Sahara and other previous roles. He is so far killing it on the new show Real Detectives with Woody Harrelson.

When they started singing in Frozen i def lowered my expectation of the movie. IMO ruined, and not as funny as i thought he would be, the snowman...too forced...

"Rise of the Fellowship" - I got it from Best Buy for $10.00 including shipping. It was occasionally funny and thoroughly predictable. Still, I think that I got my ten bucks worth.
