Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Went to the Ironman 3 premiere last night. Don Cheadle showed up to do some press and introduce the film. I liked it better than 2 but not as much as 1. The suits are new and improved with some cool new features. I think it had the best finale of 3 films.

Definitely a good escapist movie. If you want logic or heavy plot, read a book. If you want to be entertained for a couple of hours and walk out of the theatre with a smile on your face, go to this movie.

.. especially if you sit all the way through the credits for the trademark 30 second final clip.

Saw Iron man 3 last night as well. The comedy was pretty well-written.

I also saw The Lives of Others/"Das Leben der Anderen". It's a German flick about Stasi and the time of the Berlin wall - it's gotten an 8.5 at imdb, so it can't be that bad.

If anyone has any foreign movies that they'd recommend, please let me know. Really been enjoying these as of late.

Pain & Gain - Good comedy, decent action scenes, too long for what it is, it could of been 30-45 minutes shorter.
I'd only recommend it if you're bored and have nothing better to do.

It was decent had some good laughs (mostly from 'the Rock' for me), still couldn't believe it's based on a true story..... Who does that stuff!?! Really some people are messed up! Good soundtrack though.

Iron Man 3 was awesome. Saw it in Avx 3d. Don't forget to wait till after the credits too.

Parker, pretty dull and boring. Was expecting way more action for a Statham flick, and it didn't have a good enough plot to take over for the lack of action. J Lo in her undies is definitely worth a watch though :)

I saw this too last friday. I was expecting crap but it made me laugh so wasn't so bad.

Iron Man 3 was not bad, much better than part 2. Post-credits scene sucked though.

Amen... Don't bother staying, just youtube it. Also I didn't feel the movie was worth the price for 3D. At least the theater was pretty much empty.

"Sexy Evil Genius" - Literally just got finished watching it. Katee Sackhoff plays crazy-smart just too well. The whole movie pretty much takes place in a bar, except for little flashback scenes. Damned good.

Place beyond the Pines....what a POS. For a movie that revolves around a biker, the sound guy was so bad he managed to make that DRZ sound like a supersport, a two stroke AND a 4 stroke all withing 5 minutes of each other....thats just pathetic.

Second of all, the preview didnt mention a word that the story line is NOT actually about the biker, but some touchy feely, hart felt story about nothing.

Great cast of actors bring nothing to the movie as none of them have indept characters....the whole movie skims on ALL aspects...total crapola.

Every time I see something in movies I know about (engine and tire squealing noises) it's wrong. Makes me wonder what else is fake in movies that I don't know about. Takes away the magic, for sure. Will not watch this movie. Thanx for heads up.

^^ Yuuup....hey listen, nobody is perfect, if the rest of the movie was decent i could probably ignore it and go on enjoying it.

I dont wanna ruin the movie, but there are some scenes where you are just shaking your head. ZERO connection with any of the characters....and apparently Ryan Gossling only knows how to act one way....the "staring into the eyes of the girl and not saying a ****ing word for 2 minutes...then saying a one word sentence...." yea go **** yourself, thats not acting.

I know this isn't the place for it but what the hey. I have walked out of more movies in the last couple years I don't think there's any point of ever going to a movie again. Popular culture is so incredibly contrived and annoying it causes actual phsycological pain. And I'm not even very bright. I can really understand hermits now.

Anyway. Film buffs, please enjoy.

I got interested thinking it was going to be fun biker stuff, but realized it was going to be some sappy chick flick where they castrate the poor biker to fit the female perception of what he should be etc... so I avoided it. Thanks for confirming that it was not worth the effort.

I was fortunate enough to get some tickets for the prescreening of The fast and the furious 6, as expected awesome car/action scenes and an unexpected twist.
There was a couple of cheesy scenes but overall it was a great movie, solid plot and a great ending IMO.

Really eh? Good to know. I'll probably see this soon with an old university buddy. The first movie we saw together in school was Fast and Furious.

I'm really excited to watch star trek tomorrow.

Definitely excited for Fast 6.
Saw Iron Man 3 and really enjoyed it, better than #2 but not as good as #1. Love Robert in the role though, suits him perfectly!
