That style of movie is defined by cheese. Have a look at some of the examples they produced back in the '70s. How about "Escape from New York", for something a little more recent than that?

I know the story about criminals is a bit recycled. But I must admit the thing in space is kind of intriguing, also the idea putting prisoners to sleep and using them as guinea pigs
 
watched get the gringo and lockout. Both were horrible. Gibson did a good job acting in gringo but the rest of the actors were just horrible.
 
"Tomorrow, When the War Began" - An Australian take on "Red Dawn." Not bad, overall. A sequel is supposed to come out, some time this year.
 
I know it's already been mentioned but I finally watched the US version of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and I have to say I was very impressed. Very true to the book, well acted and contained some details the original didn't.

If the goal of a dramatic movie is to get you emotionally involved, then it succeeded. It made me want to take a machete to every male character.
 
Not sure if it was posted yet, but I just watched a French Canadian movie called Martyrs last night. Awsome movie, but not for the faint of heart. The ending will make you think.

Just checked out some reviews on it and some people call it "torture porn", for reviewers like that just stick to your Xmen movies.

Expendables 2. I actually enjoyed this one but wasn't a fan of the first.

Asura's Wrath... Dunno if this counts but watched the whole thing on youtube like a geek and thought it was awesome.
 
Just watched the girl with the dragon tattoo.

i love watching movies and i would say this is top 10 if not top 5. absolutely amazing. awesome storyline and the way it was directed was impressive too. i did get lost at some parts but it pieces itself together in the end. i love how even though the story was complex, it didnt make you have to understand it to grasp what was going on.


everyone must watch IMO. 2.5h long.

It is exactly what you expect it to be and doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. Great old school, blow things up, shoot bad guys movie.

Please don't do it... I was excited when I saw a Kevin Hart movie because he is downright hilarious. With that said, I was wildly dissappointed with his performance in Think Like a Man.

In other new, girlfriend is dragging me out to Hope Springs tonight, that Steve Carrell movie. I'll let you know how it goes...

My brother saw Savages, said it was 'meh'. I'm paraphrasing but he said "it's geared towards these new idiot generation movie goers. I wouldn't spend money to watch it in a theatre again. It's a rental at best"

So, I'm waiting for the DVD.
 
Thanks I'll wait then. I ain't ...I hope I'm not..one of those idiot gen. movie goer...lol. Fact I don't go that much....wait for the biggest action blockbuster to come out.... Is there any out yet? The girlfriend wants to go sometime wtf her birthday is comin up. Guess there is Batman...supposedly Spidey sucks. What else is worth goin to the theatre for?
