Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Just watched True Grit. Good story line, good cast!
I'm not sure a 14yr old could talk her way out of the many situations. But the cast is great, Jeff Bridges, Barry Pepper, Josh Brolin and Matt Damon.

Well fleshed characters!

Watched '30 minutes or less' the day before yesterday; it was sub par.
Watched 'killer elite' yesterday; it was pretty good.
Watched 'trespass' today and I ******* loved it.

Watched The Change Up last night, better than I had expected.

went to go see the rum diary with really high expectations, johnny depp in another film based on hunter s. how could it not be amazing. It was very well acted, well written script just a tad slow but I did not mind at all, book was better obv.. 9/10.

Saw J Edgar Last night. Really well done movie and Dicap does a great job as expected. A little on the slow side but overall a good watch. I had no idea he was a fag! NTTAWWT

Watched Killer Elite last week. Overall good action flick, lot of guns, shooting and dead people. Apparently it based on a true story about the British Secret Service in the early eighties. I'd recommend.

Also Trespass was surprisingly good. Kept me engaged the entire time, I would def recommend.

I watched Shelter...it's pretty good...kept you guessing.

The 9th Company - A Russian movie about their troops in Afghanistan from training camp to withdrawal. It's based on a real battle on Hill 3234. Not terribly realistic, but still a pretty decent war action flick with a bit of human element. If you like war movies, you should check this one out. Filmed in 05 but only released in North America last year.

just watched Contagion...good movie, very well done and really shows the human element of society breakdown when faced with mass extinction.

Loosies, My Girl and I both liked it, which is a hard thing to accomplish lol.

We were worried as there are no reviews for the movie yet but realized it doesn't hit theatres till Mid January

Mission Impossible was pretty good

A bit late, but...

rise of the planet of the apes: I liked this one the most out of all planet of the ape movies

in time: amazing premise: I'm still thinking about it days later - time is LITERALLY money. If anyone else has recommendations for movies like this, I'd love to watch 'em

battle los angeles: I love these type of movies. It was actually pretty well-done, too in terms of special effects and all that jazz

mission impossible ghost protocol -- solid action film, good popcorn chewer

girl with the dragon tattoo -- best film of the last year, for me

win win -- extremely effective, occasionally hilarious small film. . .paul giamatti is excellent again

It's pretty good, but those expecting a "non-stop thrill-ride" won't enjoy it. I did as a nice change of pace from my usual diet.

P.S. Hurt Locker is CRAP!!! Crappy acting, crappy script, realism down the toilet

sherlock holmes game of shadows -- a little un-even in parts, but a decent sequel. . .good enough to sustain the franchise until the next installment

contagion -- definitely not a thriller, but a solid drama as long as you don't look too closely at some implausibilities. . .pace is very deliberate, does a good job of developing most characters and pushing the plot along. doesn't have the editing snap of some of soderbergh's work. . .don't go into it with expectations of an action film. . .

Stubby talked me into watching "The Help".Ya,a chick flik kinda. But the story was really very good and Sissy Spacek was great.

I'd argue its not a chick flick, the book was good. Its a pretty powerful account of the southern social position in the time frame shown. Its shocking when you didn't grow up there, White chicks be crazy...

Saw WARHORSE the other night, its a great film (spielberg) with an interesting story. Be prepared to cry about four times minimum, but it has a very happy ending.

For me "The Help" was the movie of the year. Period. It's important that people go see this flick, including youngsters.

I have seen too many bad movies in 2011 ... :-( I don't understand how some of this flicks get funding .... atrocious.
