Really? Highbeams during the day???

$900.00, full coverage, $1M liability, in Brampton (worst rate area in the GTA).

Ah beat me by $300....except I'm on a zx10 and I'm 26, which would explain why I use my high beams during the day.

If I'm following someone for any length of time on a two lane road they go off I'm not a total dick but alone on a two lane your gettin blasted. I guess I don't get botherd by it because I wear a tinted visor during the day. I was also advised when I started riding to have them on. What about the people that drive around with their fog lights on when it isn't foggy? do they anger you?

You don't worry about what I learned at riding school. Im new to riding not new to the road. Its not that easy to get temporarily blinded with the small *** mirrors on bikes. Cars I can understand. Anyway I said what I had to Im not gonna get into a bitching war with you.
wow 30 posts and already attitude.

....am I late to this convo :confused1:

When I took my course at Sheridan in April the head instructor told us we should use highbeams during the day, and that it wasn't illegal. I guess someone better tell them...

There's a lot of stuff that's not illegal but downright annoying and disrespectful. But I'm starting to accept the fact that more and more people nowadays lack common sense are quite frankly self centered jerks.

i ride with my high beams on during the day... brrrrrrrrrrrr :P actually..i do.. it stops people saying.. you have a headlight out.. ahhh..that gets soooo annoying.

The instructor is wrong. They have been told, they know they're wrong, but they carry on anyway because they really don't care about anyone else on the road.

Those who can, do; those who can't, teach..... :)

If you ride with high beams on, can you please do me a favor and slap yourself?

It doesn't have to be hard, but it should at least be a medium slap.

Agreed. They likely grew up with their mothers telling them they were "special" and "the most important thing in the world".

If you don't want to be considerate for others on the road, either ride when no one else is around, or don't ride at all.

Looks like it's time to get the pen out and start filling out those citizen report forms regarding people using high beams. So, fellow riders, don't get surprised when you receive a notice in the mail.

Your chances of survival are proportional to your common sense and not to application of crutches and bandaids like high beams or modulators.

How can you submit a report on someone when you're riding in the opposite direction from them?

You can see them in the rear view mirror when they ride in the same direction. He didn't say he'd get them all...

I could manage the same bike, for maybe $100.00 more than I'm paying now and yup, those fogs and driving lights annoy the crap out of me too. They serve no valid purpose, during daylight hours, and are generally mis-aimed in a way that hits oncoming drivers' eyes.

I think high beams during the day is a bad idea just because everyone will be looking at you and it increases the chance of an oncoming vehicle having target fixation.
