Provincial politics

Ok, declined ballots are counted, but does it actually influence anything?

Nobody knows, it all depends, probably not .... I have done it too many times in my life, voting for someone else only to not give a vote to the other guy. It needs to change at some point and I decided the time is now, for me. Otherwise the voter's apathy will just continue and every election will be about a party explaining to us how the other party will mess up a job, instead of focusing on their own platform and telling me how they will succeed delivering what I am looking for ....

My property taxes went up quite a bit based on reassessment. My ability to pay the additional cost has not kept pace. Clearly the model is flawed.

I would say that Canada is one of the markets where house market is getting out a whack .... I just hope we all will not pay a dear price at some point soon (like US did ...). I just saw what a house in my hood sold for and I just rolled my eyes in disbelief, trying to figure out what made the buyer to pay so much ...

In small numbers? Not in the slightest. It's just seen as an effective fringe vote, just like a vote for the Marxist-Leninist Party. In sufficient numbers, however, it might signal to the major parties just how truly dissatisfied voters are and, if we get into percentage points, they're going to want to acquire those votes before their opposition does. As I mentioned earlier, in the last election the Liberals won by a little more than 2% of the popular vote.

The decline carries a hidden message as well. Every "Decline" represents a bunch of others that don't know of the option or don't think it matters. Sort of like seeing one termite in your house, you worry.

A written letter carries a lot of weight because that one opinion is probably backed by thousands who are too lazy to write or that prefer only posting on motorcycle forums.

Record low rates, and QE. Even Harold the Jewelry buyer is giving out mortgages.
As well we are in sub prime territory.

"is getting"? In Toronto (and Vancouver, etc.) the market is totally nuts

I found this on facebook - I am even more afraid of the conservatives "a million jobs created through cuts", something does not compute in here

I'm afraid of all of them. Their platforms are all shopping lists and they are using my money.
I'm ok if they just give me money back and leave me alone.

Cool, so you are going to collect and dispose your own garbage, clean your own swear, maintain your own street and Hwy so you can go to work, pay for your own doctor when you get hurt or have an emergency? etc etc

Anyways, see you all at the voting centers today!

If my $ was used properly I'd not have a problem. But the waste and foolish spending????

That's the problem. Not enough ppl are interested enough to go to the polls in the first place and if they were going to decline, they don't go. Not enough education about declined votes out there, but the parties don't want that either.

Me to! Afraid. Coincidently, I received my property taxes (up $400) yesterday so rolled paying that into my voting errand. Of course I was steaming about the taxes and as I was circling the polling station on my bicycle I was totally at a loss who to vote for. I've been all over the map for a month, yet at crunch time, still didn't know.
The point? Nobody is going to leave me alone or give my money back. We're to far down the slippery slope. I like the party of personal accountability but they'll just slash and the only money back will be a token I won't even notice. With them at the helm they'll allow big business to social engineer every hard working person into poverty. Liberals are a no go. What's left? I left the polling station not feeling good at all.

I'm a conservative but their platform doesn't make sense. The liberals spend wayyy to much for me to ever vote that way and not a fan of the NDP platforms either.

For the second time in my life I too have to decline a provincial vote.

The real powers at be have already decided who will win. Look at Europe. They spent trillions and got nowhere. Then what happened? Austerity came in to save the bank and elites.
Guess what is going to happen here? Same thing. Get ready for austerity.

PC are going to win. It’s already been decided. Why do you think Tim Hudak looks so comfortable on camera?

I've been hearing about it all over the radio for the past 2 days.

I wanted to vote libertarian but covered my nose and went blue
