Provincial politics

More likely it has something to do with the $21K living allowance for MPPs who live more than 50 Km from Toronto. You know, the one that he threw Peter Shurman under the bus over.

I don't follow exactly. Example; I know a Hamilton industrialist who got an incredible amount of special treatment and quick attention for an eye injury, something a regular person would never get. I think I understand how/why that can happen, no sour grapes. Would a guy like Hudak call in favours or somehow exert influence to have his child born at the best possible facility, using handpicked doctors as a precaution even though there is nothing abnormal about the pregnancy? Even though there are a lot of hospitals between Wellandport and T.O.? If that were the case I'd be deeply disappointed. Right there that would drive a wedge between me and my potential leader. And ironically he wants to make cuts.

Now I find myself wondering, does he actually live in Wellandport? Or like Mac Harb, he maintains a 0.01% equity in the Wellandport home of the Brunei Ambassador?

My point was that with $21K in living allowance, in other words $1,750.00 a month, he could well have had his family parked in an apartment in the Toronto area. That would make it reasonable to use a Toronto hospital.

And additionally my point was that if that was the case then his throwing of Shurman to the wolves, when he lived in Niagara on the Lake (which is 20 Km further from Queens Park than Wellandport) and had apparently stated his intention to move and wish to run there, gets things into a pot/kettle sort of situation.

That's counterbalanced by the corporate owned board of directors on 3 of the 4 big papers "endorsing" Hudak.

I feel very comfortable voting for someone that is not endorsed by a millionaire in a top hat.

Unless you're a millionaire, be afraid. Be very afraid of Hudak. He's only interested in the interests of millionaires.

It's my understanding that due to her age and the fact that the Hudak's first child has medical issues the pregnancy was considered, "high risk". Therefore, it was a decision made by the Hudak's doctor that the baby be delivered at Sunnybrook. No conspiracy, no wasting of tax dollars, no moving to the head of the line due to influence.

Clearly some of you have had too much Fiberal Kool-Aid. You're determined to continue misleading others with false information and fear mongering tactics. Never let facts get in the way of a good mud slinging, eh?

For any of the other 1/2 dozen reading this take a few minutes and do a little research. You may discover that you're going to vote, (or not) based on misdirection like:

Oh NO! The PC's are going to make cuts and we'll all be ruined!

Well, Wynne plans on making cuts too! In fact it was the McSquinty Liberal's that commissioned the Drummond report. You know, that little document that showed just how badly the government had over spent and what it needed to do to get the deficit under control by 2017/18.
Problem is Neither Dalton nor Kathleen kept up the time table. Yet somehow, Wynne thinks she can still pull it off by 2018 and not upset the public sector.

The PC's understand that it's only got worse over the last year. In order to get it back on track they are prepared to tell the public sector what they don't want to hear. That it's bloated beyond reason and that if the province is to survive cuts to bring the government back down to 2009 size have to be made.

The four little graphs showing the candidates jobs is very interesting. However, you should read the article that those came from to gain a better understanding of what those graphs mean. For example, with the Liberals having so many former teachers in it's ranks it's understandable that the quality of life for educators has been going up. Yet the quality of our children's education has been on the decline? Over the past decade class sizes have been reduced, the total number of teaching assistants have increased and teachers have been given more time to prepare lessons. So why are todays kids less educated, less prepared for the world then they were 10 years ago?

This is Hudak's line .... that's not my personal finding watching my kid starting school system under PC and finishing off under LIB, quite the opposite.

The fact that Canadian education fairs less favorably in math and some other isolated indicators today than years ago, is to me as an Ontario resident is irrelevant.

Canadian kids have too much time for their smartphones and other distractions ... blame the parents not a government pls.

Cool infographic:

There's a problem with this otherwise cool chart ... where is all the "normal" people who are not business owners, but rather employees and work in private sector?? I guess, the largest group, they will decline a ballot ... LOL ... forgot about that.

By the same token, it seems that you have drunk from the PC Koolaid.
-they are going to improve education by making cuts to education, reducing support workers and increasing class sizes
-they are going to create jobs by cutting 100000 jobs first, then count 1 person having 1 job for 8 years, as creating 8 jobs
i clearly remember the chaos of the Mike Harris years. Do you really want that again?

But were told by the Liberal media that everyone are millionares in their McMansions.

The Drummond Report: You mean that report the Liberals virtually ignored? Hard to point at that as evidence they want to make cuts. They took the palatable things, ignored the rest, and played the fiddle while Rome burned.

By comparison Hudak wants to run a bulldozer over the burned empire, sell plots of land off to corporations, and call it a done job.

The NDP aren't any better. They want to take the corpse, flay it, and set it out in the sun to cure. Too much "Game of Thrones."

The education thing is an interesting issue. It's as much (or more) a societal thing, as it is an issue with teachers. When we were kids and got bad grades, our parents would chew us out. Hell, my father got ****** when my lowest mark was a "B" in Gym. These days when a kid comes home with a "C", or even a failing grade, it's somehow the teacher's fault. How much time is spent with helping a kid work on his homework, in the typical modern two income family? Teachers, the TV, and the internet spend more time raising most kids now, than do parents.

It's your understanding? Well that's a nice way to soften the blow LOL. I feel I have a bit of every party in me(n/m the jokes), I'm all over the map on this election. No koolaid. I'm not looking for dirt or build a case against Hudak but straight up I'd like to know the back story, motivations, sense of entitlement, ego, elitism etc. Fact is high risk preggers are very common these days. Can any family Dr. from Trailer Park Central make that phone call? And be accommodated? And what does that say about ALL the other hospitals between here and there? Srsly.

LOL ... the same report, Wynne claims that LIB gov implemented from 80% .... the lies and more lies, eh?

Sir ... you are starting to sound like me .... or am I starting to sound like you? ... or could it be that this is what most ON voters feel like ? All the parties really should invest in "How do you parent a kid in 2014 ..." ... LOL .... leave the teachers and curriculum's alone.

All other BS aside, I really have a tough time figuring out how people can stand to vote Liberal again after all the scandals. Ornge, eHealth, gas plants, Squinty saying he won't raise taxes and doing the exact opposite, HST, etc. Seriously, this stuff just happened for crying out loud. It wasn't 10 or 20 or 40 years ago, its the current government. Do people just not know? I gotta start talking to my neighbours with red signs on their lawns... seriously wtf is going on here?

A message needs to be sent damnit. It's the only way to hold government accountable for their mistakes - don't re-elect them!!!

Most voters might well feel the same way but you would have to add this; "... except MY kids."

the liberals have 2
the conservatives have 2 or 0 (pharmacists shoppersdrugmart maybe? otherwise 0 if they work in a hospital)
NDP 12 or 3 (9 "trade unionists" could be employee's of government branches)
green 13 ( with 9 students)

In all fairness though, they have a new leader. Sure, Wynn signed off on the gas plant move as a member of McGuinty's cabinet, but as a cabinet member they have the choice of going along with the leader (McGuinty) or being kicked out of cabinet. Wynn claims to be more transparent. (I know that a politician's claim, along with $2 will buy you a cup of coffee.)
