Paris Attack

I would agree but they still have a creeping theocracy problem.
They have a leadership problem... erdagon was a honest public servant at one time.. now power has corrupted him... he is becoming more and more tyrannical.... I sense a TINY bit of imperialistic ambition in him these days.

If anything, more solidly entrenched.

you guys realize that nobody seems to be changing their minds in this thread...lol

You can only change your mind if 3 conditions can be met

1) You don't hold A priori positions or/and lack the ability to think in a critical manner.
2) Will consider other positions
3) Actual Arguments have been made.

I've never thought about this and do not hold a position on this atm. I don't know if there's anything you can say to change my mind.

religion is like a mirror to most ppl

if you make them really think or they accept a scientific view, that will shatter their persona and who they are...they will be lost and confused therefore it's best to stay in the herd where they feel safe and protected and part of something "important".

GTAm, like the universe, craves a balance. We have both shahfaisal and snobike mike.

Group A promotes the virtues of oil.

Group B promotes the virtues of water.

Both have virtues, both are good at some things and not good at other things. Only a moron, or someone in some bizarre type of denial, would ever think that they can work together. They can't and they never will. The virtues of oil are irrelevant, the virtues of water are irrelevant, they simply don't mix. All that matters is the physics. The laws of physics can't be enforced based on opinion, they simply are or they aren't. People wishing things could be a certain way does not make it possible.

Oil and water. Never.

Think emulsion. :)

But I understand what you're saying.

Think oil slick.

I want to see what kind of double-speak BS shahwhatshisname comes up with to defend this.

"And it's believed the ISIS militants killed three of at least 15 pigeon breeders in Iraq after deciding it is against Islamic religion to keep birds this week.

The extremists also executed 13 teenage boys for watching the Asian Cup football match between Iraq and Jordan last week.
The young football fans had been caught watching the game on television in the Iraqi city of Mosul, which is controlled by the Islamic State."

Executed for raising pigeons. Watching soccer. The sooner these ******* are wiped off the face of the Earth, the better.

CIA has more blood on its hands.

Why do dumb people like the moron you quoted ask questions that they think will somehow deflect from the fact that no one is spreading hatred and phobia of Islam. It's the actions of those Islamists that is causing the phobia and hatred. Take off the stupid hat and man dress and join the 21st century, have a drink, look at some porn and get your c@(k sucked....then you won't feel need to act the way you do.
oh and as always...Allah mothervuckin akbar

The actions of those Islamics? Are you referring to the ilk of Lassana Bathily?

Why the hell did the "West" go into Iraq and get rid of Hussein and yet these animals and their brethren Boko Harem are pretty much left untouched. Why is there not an multilateral International force going and getting these modern day Nazis off of the planet? These atrocities are as bad as anything Stalin or Hitler did and the International community is doing pretty much squat. Both of these nutso movements need to be met head on and stopped. There needs to be some kind of negotiation with the neighboring Islamic states but surely something could be done. Now those two Japanese prisoners are going to be executed by ISIS. Is Japan even involved in these actions against ISIS? WTF!?

It usually takes quite a while to set up any multilateral international force at the best of times. Given recent debacles in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, it's understandable that the usual partners are wary of jumping right in and potentially getting embroiled into another bottomless pit of military adventurism with no assured prospect of success.

If anything, western military intervention in middle east affairs often ends up being a very effective recruiting tool for terrorists.

All good points and true. I read an article the other day discussing the "mission creep" which is happening with our current role against ISIS. Hard for Canada to contribute the paltry amount we do; especially with an election coming this year.

However, nobody seems to be discussing doing something substantive to wipe these lunatics from the asylum. How far do they have to go before somebody does something? These "advisory" missions to train the local troops is not working.
