I agree with you there. That being said, I think the same could be said for most Islamic state governments.

if the choice is between a local dictator and a foreign dictator i am sure every single one of us will choose a local dictator over a foreign dictator any day.

Not sure why Muslims hate freedom so much?

This is what you said earlier in this thread:

"european version provides more freedoms yes but irresponsible.. its not a balance... if everybody had the freedom to do anything we would all be dead.."

just dishing freedoms out is inherently dangerous

With views and mindsets like that it is small wonder that dictatorial and totalitarian regimes flourish over there.

do you seriously believe we have democracy????

heck iran is more open than US.. at least they know who/what the politicians are actually loyal to.. can you say the same for US?
its like comparing apples to oranges..

iran and malaysia are relatively young nations formed AFTER WW2..

when US,Canada, France, UK, were the same age as a nation they were FAR FAR WORSE.. heck iran and malaysia with their human rights records.. are saints when compare to the above mentioned western nation at the same age... i highly doubt you can disagree with that zoodles

When france and Uk were the same age as iran is now we're talking primitive times, rights weren't a concept. when the US became a nation it would have been perfectly acceptable to make a slave out of you and your family. slavery isn't condoned anymore worldwide. you think it's ok to act like primitive people in medieval times because the country isn't that old? south korea is younger as a country and they seem to be doing a better job... age of the political boundaries mean nothing to what is acceptable treatment of people. and because one country did something bad to their people doesn't mean it's right for other countries to do bad to their own people.

I wish ShahFaisal would stop redacting and editing his comments after he posts them. Makes it hard to keep track of...

You have answered his current version of that post perfectly and South Korea is a great example of a post WW II state which is modern, democratic, and forward thinking. Sounds like a better example to emulate than Iran.

For a slightly older country that also wasn't as heinous as Iran we can look at Greece, they've been a country since the 1800s, so it's not like at a certain age a country has to go full retard.

Really?

She is technically correct it isn't globally excepted as an okay trade as it once was. But you are correct Slavery is still rife around the world. North Korea uses slave labour forces. India still has a problem with forced indentured servitude that spills over into direct slavery. Arab slavers still kidnap kidnap non-arabs especially children as traffic them, ISIS, Boko Haram captures and sells slave (especially for sex) Even in Europe the sex slave trade is big business.

To quote Mo Ansar "If slaves are treated justly, with full rights, and no oppression whatsoever… why would anyone object?"

So there is still those that don't universal condem it and its support by multiple Jewish, Islamic and Christian (probably others too) religious texts so its not surprising it hasn't died out.

Oh my god I laughed out loud with that one.. :lmao:

This is the best the Islamic faith can come up for a society?

I would give that honor to Turkey. They seem to have struck some sort of a balance, but then again I have only been there twice.
