They easiest factor to nullify in this mess is the provocations. .
The extremist imams will always be there just like the extremist priest and rabbis.. but if they cant use any thing as proof then one of their excuses is nullified...
No shortage of politicians and actors to make fun of.... make fun of an imam or priest not my problem. ... HATE CREATES HATE. ..

You mean..censorship. I'm sorry, I'm dead against that in a country that has freedom of speech.
Some level of respect and conttol.must be practiced either voluntarily (my preference) or forcefully.. if not its dog eat dog.. not an ideal of a civilized society

Ive been told this article was racist by some people here...even though its about a person with considerable influence on a politician...btw the article in question was posted a few weeks after one of the mohammad mockery cartoons.. you decide if its a double standard or not

Yes..and.cartoons are jokes. Sometimes they are cruel. Often a proportion of people might find them offensive. But they are legal unless they incite hatred/violence and I'm sorry, but I really think what incites the hatred and violence from both sides has nothing to do with a few cartoons and a lot to do with medieval attitudes towards society.
Religion, politics, any of these are ripe for satire. They are often absurd and nonsense to many people and so make the perfect target for cartoons and satire.

These attacks created more cartoons... kind of like poking a bees nest. I blame the terrorists for all the cartoons and islamohatred that came after. If they didn't shoot the cartoonists then other cartoonists wouldn't have made more cartoons. If they didn't shoot the cartoonists then mosques wouldn't have been vandalised.
Masjids were being vandalized looong before any of the cartoons
Islamophobia has gone mainstream since late 80's.. so you understand what came first... llooooong before ANY organized extremist attacks in the west...

The tinder may have been dry or smoldering in some places, this has sparked some fires. I've seen a number of people that were fence sitters choose sides over this.
