Off leash dog complaints

hard to explain about my dog and what not, but I KNOW my dog and my dog would not bite anyone. Literally nobody! He isnt that dog...doesnt have it in him. You guys can say whatever, and dogs will be dogs, but he is a big suck. Scared of his shadow really!

, !

Sounds like a possible fear biter.

But really, one of the most common statements
From the owner of a dog that just bit someone is he has
Never been aggresive or bitten anyone before......doesnt help
against the $25000 lawsuit unfortunately.

$25,000! Thats a small one.

Ajax and Whitby are both in the midst of lawsuits, with dog bites. The sum is no where close to $25 G's ..

Again thanks for the replies... and all the worst case scenarios ... it is appreciated...it really is.

my dog rides too.... but he has no license unfortunately :(

This is a hilarious response. ajaxguy just explained the situation. Again. What is it with people and the law? By-laws and traffic laws aren't like criminal laws. By-laws and traffic laws are knowingly and unknowing broken every day by normally decent people. If the situation is not a problem, then the situation is not a problem. Don't be getting the law on your fellow citizens needlessly.

...

Sure, I think it is live and let live. Probably that's what you are saying.

But by the same logic in your post, if the situation is a problem for someone (anyone), then you understand why 'that someone' would call the authorities? It goes both ways.

At the end of the day, By-laws and traffic laws and criminal laws... they are all elastic for some guys, and it's all fun and games, until you are found in the wrong. Then it becomes "pay to play"... and not even that is a big problem (for minor things, like parking), if you have the money to pay the fines, just pay them as you go. Paying the tickets is actually the easy part.

I'm perfectly fine with a good many laws / rules only being enforced on a "when complained about" basis ... but this falls apart when you have someone in the neighborhood whose mission in life is to complain about everything that everyone else does so as to make everyone else's lives as miserable as possible, and preferably more miserable than their own miserable life.

As far as dogs go, I don't have one, but here are the only ways I would complain about someone else's dog:
1 - Did the dog eat something of mine
2 - Did the dog poop on my property and the owner fail to clean it up
3 - Did the dog bark incessantly at god-awful hours in the early morning so loudly that I couldn't sleep

Been here 11 years, never had a problem with any of the dogs in the neighborhood ...

I think this is a great post, we are getting close to the root of the problem :p

The OP keeps saying what a great dog he has, and why there shouldn't be any problems... but the reality is, that there is a complain already. That's the facts. And you can only ignore reality for so long. :D

So he should explore why there's a complain (forget the "who" for now). Is it the dog? Is it him? Is it the other party?

Do you know every by-law, civil law, criminal law, tax law, HTA , building code, safety regulation so on and so forth? Do you understand and comply with every single written rule you are obliged to follow? Are you elastic? Do you enjoy fun and games?

This thread got my attention because the OP clearly laid out the situation re: pooch and back 40 doin's. And as sure as the sun rises we've got death, mayhem and lawsuits!!! out the ying yang per GTAM no0b starter kit.

My dog needs muzzles even though they were compliant with the law? No pits here. COs don't like aggressive curs.

CO..?
What kind of dog was it? Did you see it happen? Did you let the other dog owner know what happened? Was it reported?

Not sure why people worry what their dog would do, worry what another dog will do.

Mine are safe enough. They don't go too far from me, can hold their own in most cases... and know when to run...I'm not afraid to intervene against any dog(s)... and if in a situation that I think requires it than I have no issue with dispatching a dog.

Tip of the hat to you Sir...that really made me lol

My last dog had cancer with a nasty bleeding tumour in her mouth. She loved going for a walk (on leash) though and it's what kept her going so long as far as I'm concerned. She really didn't like strange dogs coming up to her off lead though and neither did I as it would get her worked up and she also had bad hips and I didn't want that aggravated on top of everything else. It's not too much to ask that your dog be on a leash in areas where that's required.

As for my current dogs, I still keep them on a leash unless I'm in the off leash park. The girl dog happily will attack other dogs she doesn't know if they are off lead and she is on lead and I warn owners of this. The little guy I have also has a bad hip problem that we are managing really well but this involves him not being jumped on by strange dogs too. Again, I warn owners about this and consider it their one and only warning before I take matters into my own hands. I don't want to face a vet bill of thousands because you thought it would all be fine. It's really not hard at all to leash your dog unless you're in a remote area or an off leash park.

I have close to an acre, fully fenced. If we leave the yard, she wears a leash. My dog is nervous around strangers( mainly men) she has never bitten, but puts on a huge show. Because of this, I keep her near me in public so she doesn't make others nervous.
Op, sounds to me like someone around you has nothing better to do, and that's their right... To lead a nasty boring life.

Ya nutting you can do..... just deal with the b***h neighbours and the pathetic ****** animal control officers. I ran off leash today and yesterday.... I am not really concerned anymore! Town of Ajax animal control officers are the worst kind, and I am sure they are involved in a underground @ss licking operation.

Maybe invent the invisible leash. One SKU but hot damn.......

you know what is retarded about the law..... you can have a leash/rope that is 100ft long but as long as your dog is on that then it is ok. Guess who is going to have the longest leash in Ajax?? this guy!

Are you sure in waterloo any leash over 6 feet is not allowed and the same fine etc as not having one.

Yep! I asked the lovely officers when they came to harass me again.
