Boxers are my favourite breed and I would have one if I had the time to take care of it. I have never heard bad things about them. I also admire a dog that is trained to heel.
That said, a lot of people don't know dogs. Some people are afraid of them in general and they don't know one breed from another.
Is it right that a sensitive person be in fear of an unleashed dog? Should the dog be allowed to run free but a person that had at one time been attacked have to be confined in their own home?
I say this because I once heard terrified screaming from outside my home and when I looked outside it was a little girl being growled at by a loose dog (Spaniel). As the girl screamed the dog became more agressive. Finally the owner came out and took the dog away. Is this right?
The same dog came up my driveway and did its territorial growl and bark at my then girlfriend. Fortunately it left before I got a shovel.
We have rights but they end when they infringe on the rights of others.
In a closed community I could understand your point of view but if the neighbourhood is open to all and there are no indoctination courses as to good and bad dogs they can't be allowed to run free.
