Off leash dog complaints

being a good niebour is one thing, being a responsible pet owner is another, why get into a pissing match about this just leash your dog.

Why? Well for the 4 years i have had my dog there, not one complaint and everyone loves my dog and knows him. Then new neighbours move in, you barely see them, then a complaint all of a sudden. Thats why!

I don't get the mentality of the OP. At this point, I think he is just trolling or trying to get rise out of everyone here.

Any person with common sense would have stopped this cycle.

I'm sure there is someone on this board who probably works at OSPCA. Why not go and visit the OP? He clearly doesn't think you have the balls to do it. I think there should be enough information in the thread to find him.

You are partly right... it is fun to get some of these guys worked up lol. They are so angry!
As for the OSPCA visiting me... why would I be worried about that? Do tell? did my dog bite someone? does he have rabies? Like come on man, im smarter then that. They can visit me if they want, but have no reason to do anything other then say hi.

Well.. Let me just say this to the OP. I let mine off leash all the time... but I honestly wouldn't be so slack with a boxer. It's all about perception... other people's perceptions... Just remember that in a 'worst case scenerio'... your dog is the one that loses. They sneak up and rope him before you leash him... or an after hours call about a loose dog... that brings the police.. they don't carry leashes and leads. May sound ridiculous to you right now... but some years ago... I watched my dog as he screamed, flailed and flopped around... while bleeding out in my driveway... from a gunshot... it sucked... bad!!!

We break the laws for things like speeding all the time, and I have also got tickets from time to time.
Got to pay to play every now and then, this is no different.

OP I truly hope the original complainer isn't a major dick. The possibilities are really there for him/her to make things very miserable if they desire. The by-law enforcement people? They need to be responsible in their work, you loose time off work and get to stand around, they get paid for it. Don't be a dick, its expensive to be a dick

From what I have heard most boxers are wild... my guy not at all... I guess i got lucky and some great training. With that said, I understand that they can look mean to people who do not know dogs, but as I have said, when he is off leash I make sure no one is around and I do have a leash around my neck just in case. If i see someone, I call him and put him on it, and he listens.

I guess people on here are thinking that I just open the door and let him run free and thats that! Doesnt happen! He walked on a leash regular, but I am talking about the time he does go off leash, which is not everytime he goes outside.

I agree 100%

Well apparently they are... but like I said, I am going to talk to them when i see them next and see if we can't work this out, I am not trying to be an *** and maybe there is a misunderstanding he has regarding my dog.

Is he off the leash or not.......no misunderstanding.
You have been lucky and have had neighbours that liked dogs.....these dont.

No he is on leash all the time. End thread!

Took mine for the usual run this AM in a local ravine, off leash as usual.... and a coyote made a play for my JR. He ended up getting the better of it, but took punctures to his face/eye. We see them all the time, almost every morning, but they usually stay far away. Normally there are other dogs with us (dogo and pits) but this morning it was just me and the JR...

Maybe the new neighbors have kids.

Btw: one reason to leash your dog would be this: I was riding my motorcycle through my neighborhood and this dog just jump out of no where start barking at me i had to swerve out of the way not to hit him. (He came out onto the road.)

How big is your dog? Lol.

I had a German Shepherd called George. He was a big bastard. He was adopted not trained by us. He loves to pick fight with the big dogs.

One thing for sure, I would walk him at night & not be afraid at all, even in the woods. I was 14 at the time. I would assume he would eat a coyote or even a wolf.

Oh George I miss you tough bastard

A house pet VS a wild animal... Even if the pet outweighed the animal (say a German Shep vs a coyote) my $ is on the wild animal.

Be careful underestimating coyotes. They can kill any dog in numbers and believe me they are smart enough to know how to lure big dogs out. Wolves are in a whole different league, no dog would last long even a game dog.

Wolf hound, kuvac etc etc are for what?

Lol they are for show. Test them and find out what happens. There are some old world breeds that could hang but you would need to find people still breeding them for their real purpose.

I don't know about that, my dog kills a dozen or so squirrels every year. And they are WILD squirrels! Lol
