November riders...post your rides. Season's not over yet

Same here! Whole last week has been screwed up by rain :toothy2:

The only thing I did wrong today - I was riding in my regular jeans - my knees were just icing on 407 :icescream:

Other than that, it was a cool ride 8) Tomorrow I go to Las Vegas for a week... hope there will be couple more weeks to ride after that!

Kid rode to work today - was not far but then went for a ride .....damn...surprised me. Just might have to go for milk :D

what gloves

Tourmaster Synergy. Since the TM website currently lists Synergy 2.0 and Synergy Textile gloves, I guess mine would be an older version. The newer versions are either leather/textile or just textile, mine are all-leather.

They're a bit bulky but you adjust quickly. The only real design flaw is the heating elements in the thumb. They're on backside (top) of the glove like the other fingers; when gripping the bars, thumbs point forward into the wind, so the heating isn't as effective. The elements should really wrap around the thumb tip.

I got a ride in today. Had to go to a friend's shop in Mississauga to pick up some parts for my track bike, then went to Campbellville (Ice House was closed), then went to Belfountain for a warm-up. There were a few hardy souls in and out of there.

Full leathers, big sweater on underneath. OK except fingers, toes, and to some extent my chin.

Most of the leaves have blown off, but there were plenty of damp spots wherever there was shade. Wheelspin on a cbr125 ... priceless!

that's exactly what I need as the heated grips do the rest. - thanks for tip - with GF coming soon from Aus might be too late to bother for this season.

Rode about 100km from Pickering to Port Perry and back late this afternoon. Saw only one other bike. All my usual riding gear, but added long johns under the jeans, an extra shirt, and the most essential piece of all, a neck warmer. No fancy gloves, just the same ones I use all season. Warm and comfortable the entire ride, except for my thumbs! I've heated grips which make an enormous difference, but they do little for the thumbs.

Rode 10 minutes out of Sudbury only to hit a freak snowstorm. Turned tail and got the car. :(

Clothing: Tourmaster Heated Jacket, pant liner Gloves under Joe Rocket textile pants and Jacket (Ballistic), T-max socks under Alpinestar Webgoretex boots.
Balaclava.

Bike Mod: GSF650s Bandit. Tall screen, Hand Guards, 25$ heated Grip . Compact Motomaster battery booster :)

- About tourmaster :co-ax connector are easy to crap out and can leave you out in the cold.I always carry extra heat controller (the 2 button hi/med/low and connect to jacket). I have my set since 2008 and replaced connectors with the dual plug same as for the battery tender.
Now modified Jacket to use conventional heat troller.
-Bikes battery is old and its cheaper that time to buy the battery booster.

Rode Last Decemer from Vegas to North Carolina.

Right now its cheapest to insure the CBR from Sep to Feb only 70$ vs 2000$/ whole year. So I guess I'll do my SS riding in winter.

Got a Icon Patrol Waterproof jacket from Studio Cycle, and all I have to wear is a thin shirt under and I was warm and dry on a ride from Toronto to Hamilton in 3-5 degree raining weather.

Got the POW gloves from there too and they do the job better then most glove combos I have tried to keep warm.

For boots I have the Alpinestar Scout boots and I don't feel the cold through them. My feet stayed warm and dry while riding last weekend in the rain all day.

It's still fun to ride in this weather as long as you are dressed for it. I've been on a ten minute ride that I wish I never had to do with the wrong gloves on and my fingers felt like frozen sausages after. One of those days that it was warm and sunny durring the day in the winter and I didn't check the weather for the next day and when I was done my night shift I was stuck at work with the wrong gear.

Oh and I wear a hi vis construction vest to be extra bling blingy for our dumb *** cagers in Toronto.

Rode back to Mono from Toronto this afternoon. Took the scenic route- avoided highways. Was great while i was riding downtown in the early afternoon sun, but holy **** was it cold as i headed further north and started going over 60 kph. Got much worse when the sun went behind the clouds at about 5pm! No heated gear (triple layers of gloves and a t-shirt, turtle neck long sleeve, + a sweater) and of course like a total retard i somehow forgot to wear longjohns today! Forced to stop a few times to de-numbify and yet somehow still had a (relatively) good time. Think this is the first time this year i've not seen any riders north of King Street during the daylight hours. An old couple who stopped beside me at a red light on Airport were smiling, waving and making shivering motions from the warmth of their car. It was an awesome moment. ****ers...Hahaha.
Just got new tires so i'll probably keep riding as long as it is still fun, the roads are dry and i don't get frostbite. Weather websites are calling for sun but only a high of 2 degrees up here tomorrow!!! Thinking we'll be heading south.

Good for you guys - I been a wimp last couple of days....wind plus cold and some rain was a put off. Any two is fine but when near freezing and windy and wet not my cuppa. Wind is down today so likely will get up to the Forks for mid afternoon

Gonna hit Marks today for some socks and kid needs some long johns and socks and they have a 25% off sale on thermal stuff.

Like the blend on this and designed to keep warm when wet.

Nice jacket - love the treatment around the neck.
I like my iCon rain jacket - great seals and well made.

From the reviews it seems to have the same issue as most "waterproof" ballistic jackets and leaks after a while.
One reason I keep the fully waterproof rain jacket on the bike as an added layer.

Nice looking iCon Patrol gloves

Mind are not armored or precurved and I tried my kids and they were really nice to wear.

I haven't missed a day yet commuting in on my bike. A few weeks ago I upgraded my gear. I still have a JR Alter Ego suit, and that will probably be my main gear for the warmer months. It's come up a couple of times in the post so far - the ICON Patrol gear. I bought the jacket and pants, and I was so happy with those I bought the boots. It keeps me from getting my Alpinestars SMX soaked through. I did'nt buy the Patrol gloves because I read a couple of negative reviews, but I think it's difficult with gloves to get something that's waterproof and breathable for any length of time. I'm riding a CBR600, so not a lot of wind protection. Been warm and dry everyday.

I met with a group of about 12 riders at Square One (Mississaga) and headed out for a cold country ride to Elora.

We passed the Elora Quarry - lots of teenage memories jumping off the cliffs...

...way before it was named a Conservation area, way before there was a fence around it and way before the "No Jumping or Diving sign"...

Cold ride home - there were flurries just past Orangeville...

That's the jacket. I have the grey one but love both the red and yellow one too. The neck part is my favorite, I don't have to go nuts with neck warmers anymore cause that neck area cuts all the wind:)

Rode today, thinking I'm going to stay off the highway when it's that cold out. The tips of my fingers got really cold. Everything else toasty.

Nice pics Seabreez:)

Wish I were riding my bike, I just stick my hands in the fairings in the front and warm right up:)

Good on SeaBreez for doing a ride today. I saw only a few hardy riders out today on the 400 and 401.

I just couldn't get the will to go out this weekend. The weather is picking up for later this week and this weekend, although the lows are pretty cold (below freezing even once it warms up.) Hope I can sneak out one afternoon next weekend.

Went out for a sweet 500km today and damn did I freeze my ***** off! Went from TO to Brighton, then kawartha lakes region and tried to get home by the time the sun went down. My fingers are still tingling! No heated gear so I thought I'd layer up but the wind found a way under each layer anyway! Time for heated gear or to put the bike away!
