The DOCC club participation sucks.Sorry to disapoint anyone wishing to see more.

Perhaps this will prompt the 2 winter shows to merge as one big show as it was before. This is the first year in many that I willingly decided not to attend.

I thought the Suomy Vandal helmets (6-7 designs) for $99 was a steal as a passenger helmet. If she doesn't fit into an xs, she ain't riding on the back of mine. :D
Only XS and XXL sizing though..

Oh, the full carbon Kaos helmets (gloss and matte) were on sale for $229 at GP bikes... pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Lowest I've seen was $275 @ honda Milton.

I tried one on, tight fit. But they are LIGHT. Felt like I was wearing a baseball cap.

$221 at the Blue Streak booth.

Of everything I saw at the show today, this was the thing that really caught my eye. Lots of space and only 2 bikes displayed.

That notwithstanding, the show was what it is every year. I didn't mind paying $20 to basically be immersed in a motorcycle environment. It was also very very busy when I went.

Funny enough, I parked near the hall 5 entrance which opens up to the Cruiser/Chopper area. I don't usually go to that area (mainly because I'm just not interested in those kinds of motos), so it was quite interesting how starkly different the crowd becomes as you go from hall to hall. Lots of people wearing their club colours in there. Even saw someone wearing an "81" shirt.

Oh, I counted about 3 meat vendors if anyone is wondering.

Renewed SOAR license and paid for banquet (which is next week) ... renewed VRRA license. Bought one of the Hindle mufflers that they are blowing out ... the style that they are blowing out is the type that suits my vintage bike the best. Bought a Nexx carbon helmet ... I've had my eye on these for a while. Can't move very far without seeing someone I know and chatting. Spent 7 hours there.

I spent a fair bit of time chatting with the owner of the Aprilia RS125 with KTM 640 4-stroke engine ... what a fantastic bike. But there were lots of other interesting older bikes in that hall, too. Liked the CB1100F ... liked the CB900F ... liked the mildly customized RZ350 ... but there were plenty of others.

Show was what it is. Went with the wife and another couple, was a night out and we had a good dinner after. $100 +/- all in for a night out wasn't that bad. Bought the obligatory stands. Some good deals for people I need of some things, nothing I specifically needed.
Comments re: US shows, are there any within a few hours driving distance worth going to?

Too bad only Kawasaki and Harley showed up. Some impressive technology on the insurance booth babe's pushup bra.
Lots of cured meat, leather care and fake health products in the market ...same crap every year, since I was a kid.

Lighter than the Nexx carbon?

kaos weighs just about 1200g. not sure about Nexx carbon. I'm guessing probably similar.

just checked revzilla Nexx carbon is double price of Kaos. $420.

I got both my Kaos for $259 special.

I'm there as we speak. I'm glad I went because it is my first time. Loved the vintage bikes hall and the custom choppers hall has some neat stuff too.

I agree with some areas being really lame but there are good things here too!

Bring water. There are no fountains and a 591 mL Gatorade I just bought came to $4.25 with tax. Horrific ripoff but I was desperately thirsty.

That had to be the most douchiest section of the whole show. HEH.

Gave me ****** chills walking by. Girls were hot tho from what I coudl see

dude no offence but are you gay??

call me a ******, but to quote Dr. Dre...

"I get so much *** niggaz call me an astronaut"

It is true I suffer from depression but I had a lot of trouble finding it in me to be excited about seeing some cottage cheese ***** with makeup-caked-on "babes" that are paid to be bending over for photos. What a life achievement, such an anachronistic form of marketing these days..

There were like 5 booths there for various women riders groups. It doesn't fit anymore with a more inclusive market demographic.

Couple of booths actually had really good deals, but the most were standard "discounted" rates.
EG - A* jackets for $200 (reg $400 according to motovan booth)
Reevu Helmets for $150, most other places are $300 minimum.
One booth, unfortunately I forget which had older stock (4-5 years old) Arai helmets for $100.
At least those deals were available on Friday.
