Motorcycle show

I think so. But don't remember when. I haven't been in about 5 years.
Should I go?

Somebody mentioned the re-entry with the hand stamp. So I can take off for lunch and then come back in?

I'm going with the SO, so that's $40 plus taxes. I can get a nice dinner with that

A NICE dinner for 40 bucks plus tax? really?

You and I have different definitions of what a NICE dinner is

I was using the term loosely

I went today. $20 cash only. the $3 coupon is valid 10am-10pm today. and saturday 5pm-10pm.

i wasn't impressed. not much really. bikes were interesting, but nothing crazy. no 2014 models.

as for shopping. a few tshirt sales etc.. but as for riding gear, again nothing special.

ajaxguy has the right idea/plan.

Im gonna save the $20 and buy some beer and look at my own motorcycle in the garage

Every year people will say that and every year people go. Nothing new. To me it's $20 to go a motorcycle theme "show" for a couple of hours. Worth it.

went today. not as busy as previous years. Usually parking is a clusterf*ck, but empty spaces all day today. Layout is pretty much the same, vendors are the same. A decent number of 2014 models on the floor. Usual idiotic pricing of "for sale by owner" used bikes. Seemed to be geared a bit more towards dealerships than apparel vendors this time around. GP Bikes had their usual sized booth. This year (apparently last year to), you can use gift cards they give you ($10 for $200, $20 for $300, etc ), in separate transactions at the show. Years ago I do not believe that was the case, but nice to see. Hardly had any race suits, but lots of jackets, helmets, boots, etc. Double check the retail/sale price in accordance with the posted signage, we found a number of items that were not calculated correctly at the GP bikes booth. Riders choice was offering carver and gp pro alpinestars suits at great prices. Had most of the sizes on the rack (even found a 64 EUR for the larger folk).

Fawaz at the racer5 booth had a $499 + tax for all 3 of the stage 4/stag 5 days deal, IIRC (wasn't aware of it before the show). Considering they are running 2 groups those days with instructors, its a pretty good deal. Be sure to swing by and visit him. Individual days were also a solid deal.

Hardly any race tires to be had which was disappointing (lots of street tires though).

For me its a repeat with each show same vendors in the same booth locations. Good thing the calendar girls saved the day.:D

I only have 2 questions...... Is there still someone at the show selling "mystery meat" and socks??? :)

just got back, $20 to get in $5 for lemonade and did not buy anything. i wonder if the stamp is good for next day.

Question is. Why would u go back? Usually after 2 hours I'm done. Unless the deals are good

Yup. Another year, and the complaints are the same and everyone swears they wont go back to the next one.

I've never been to one. How bad could it really be if it's large enough to cover 5 halls?

Goin' tomorrow with my son and a buddy.

Looking for tires for my s1000rr and a helmet for the boy

I've went to 2 shows last year. Didn't complain last year, but I think I'll pass this year

Has the internet taken the magic away from these shows?

All information already available a few clicks away- there is not much to learn about? So many online vendors (to compliment your local ones) competing, if you shop around you can buy everything on sale?

The internet has ruined a lot. It's improved a lot as well (I had to hide a porn mag in the forest when I was 13! And that was the best I had, next up being the bra section of the Christmas mags). We've all seen the world before and after the internet. Whether you like it or not, I think we witnessed something gigantic in the story/history of humanity. The future will always look at this moment in time.

Or maybe not.
