Yes, she definitely assaulted his fist with her face, and should be charged with such. They should give the auto driver a bye, the way they did with the motorcyclist who filmed the distracted driver.

Who does? We all have somewhere to be, or some super important thing (to ourselves) that we need to be doing. Are we victimized when some special interest group shuts a street down for a weekend festival because traffic jams? It's the nature of living in the 4th or 5th largest city in North America. Don't like the chaos; maybe Sudbury.

To be fair, that guy changed lanes with out signalling. This guy fled the scene, maybe due to his suspended license, and managed to end his evening with a BBQ. Sorry, no pass due here.
 
It sounds like the riders initiated the situation, are they to blame for the guy rolling the car, probably not.

one thing for sure, the fallen riders section is going to start filling up. Odds are someone from the mob ride will be dead a year from now.

There have been some great solutions offered to someone being swarmed and threatened:
Just keep driving
Throw it in reverse
Call 911.

Call 911 is perfect - you're even allowed to use your handheld phone in an emergency. But the others? Just keep driving? Seriously?What part of swarmed or blocked is tough to understand? When the bikes are on both sides with riders threatening and yelling, and others are in front slowing down, how do you "just keep driving"? Wouldn't that result in what you've called "violence"?
Just "throw it in reverse" - oh wait, I meant "just throw it in reverse after ensuring you won't run over a rider that's trying to box you in."

Great ideas - missing entirely the concept of "threatened". Calling 911 is still the best idea, but at some point when some animal smashes my window with his helmet, the bigger vehicle is going to get me the f out of there, whatever is in the way.

BTW - this is in response to the posters who have criticized the few who have said they would protect their families if threatened, and were accused of advocating violence with a vehicle. It is in no way in defense or support of the actions of any of the people in the vehicle or on the bikes in the news article.

Just take a step back and think about this. Do you really think unprovoked swarming and threatening of a singled out vehicle happens that often if ever in these scenarios? If you start with 911 you'll never get to needing to use your vehicle as "Protection"

New york incedent the driver was cutting through the mob in the middle lane when one of them took exception to his wife throwing peach pits at them, and proceed to brake check the truck. Well the idiot got hit, and then all hell broke loose. So that guy went about "protecting" his family by running said man over. What good did that do him again?

and last night

“My boyfriend [the driver] pulled up next to them and I rolled down the window and told them to move,” she said.
The motorcyclist “told me to f*** off, so I did the same. Two seconds later he’s three inches away from my window – he could have brushed my hair that’s how close he was – going 100 km/h on a motorcycle. He takes his fist and smashes my right window off. I told my boyfriend to get off at Dixie road because I was freaking out,” she said.

Takes two every time. Call 911 and keep your distance; you won't be faced with angry bikers surrounding you. If taking things into your own hands leaves you in a position where vehicular assault is your only out, that's as much on you as them.

PS we're in Canada, and I would bet our judicial system agrees.

Lol. So been catching the news on the radio on the way home and it's amazing how much the story has changed since first reported.

Btw.
That guys going to be behind bars until Monday at the earliest. I bet he's regretting some actions now.

Maybe those bikers never existed.

There's plenty of holes in the stories told by the driver and passenger of the car.

It takes a) some mad skills to ride 100 km/m, to get that close and able to punch while holding a bike b) one heck of a good reason.

So the boyfriend was driving now? I thought the initial story stated the woman was the one driving? Rider involve might not have much to give him the benefits of doubt but it's hard for me to give credibility to that story.

If the couple had MJ and coke with them, wasn't to their benefit to dial 911 or to have the cop involved at all. Just my two cents.

from driving and yelling to crashing and burning the car then ending up in jail facing numerous charges that will haunt you for a very long time...not to self...just let them pass on by or exit or just sit behind and watch the show or uhm dial 911...

I wonder why they did not dial 911?????????????????????

Must have been a different guy. This one lane split up beside, yelled at, and then ran a red light to get ahead of her. Once there, he accelerated slowly to try and prevent her from passing.

The chances of the bikers coming forward and telling their side is zero.

But then again lots of people get confused when the irrational happens.

She said the bikers were skilled, pulling wheelies while speeding.
“They didn’t have any regard for human safety,” she said.


“They cut right in front of my boyfriend , two in each lane so two, two and two,” she explained. “Everyone was honking, honking, honking for them to go but they would not, so we pulled into the emergency shoulder and told them to move and he said F- you to me.”
She said the two kept arguing as they drove down the highway at about 100 kilometres-an-hour.
At one point, she noticed the biker was inching closer to her vehicle. He then smashed her side mirror and left it dangling off the car.
The woman said at that point, her boyfriend was able to head off the highway using the Dixie Road off-ramp with the motorcyclists on their tail.
Despite her boyfriend urging her not to, the woman got out of the car to confront the bikers. That’s when the tension escalated into violence.


“I got out of the car and went up to one of them and asked who had hit the mirror,” she said. “I looked around, no one would give me any information. None of the bikes had license plates except one. Only one license plate out of six bikes. They’re all wearing black.”

She said she finally recognized the biker who broke her mirror, went up to him and grabbed him by the back of his neck, demanding to know his name. That’s when she was punched in the face and stumbled to the ground.
She suffered a bruised eye, sprained elbow and several cuts.

After she was punched, the bikers left the scene, the woman said, but her boyfriend chased them.

Police told her that the bikers managed to swarm him and as he tried to get away, he lost control, hit a wall on Aerowood Drive which forced the vehicle to flip on its roof and burst into flames.

I'm going to say, and this shouldn't be a stretch for even the most obtuse, the initial report of the woman driving was a cover for her license-less BF

Lol. You really like to use excessive suggestions in changes to one's life.

You could easily become a victim of mirror smashing by trying to gtfo of their way and accidentally get in the way of special individual speeding by which would be nearly impossible to spot once you're in the middle of a swarm.

It's like someone parking right out front of your house and revving their engines to "enjoy the sound of the bikes" and saying "The noise is part of living in the 4th or 5th largest city in North America, don't like it? Move to TBay".

You can pretty much say any and all types of stupidity, regardless if it were bike, car, and shootings is part of citylife and should move away.
