Do you think it's just a funny coincidence that the very race after Australia where MM was clearly obstructing VR, he decided not to do it again but happened to let JL pass and tangle in almost every corner with VR anyways?
The close racing and constant passing is itself an indication of a 'manufactured' challenge. That's the reason the previous "race" was the most closely fought of all time, outside of Moto3. That's the reason today's "race" between MM and VR was so exciting to watch. It's because they weren't real races, they were games set up by MM to mess up the order.
I don't find it a coincidence at all. Upon watching the race over again, it looked to me that Vale nor Marc had the pace to match the leading two come race time. And I said earlier, Marc had no idea who was behind him when he got passed by Jorge. In fact, he probably thought it was still Valentino who was behind him. Jorge passed him on the same lap on turn 1 just after the front straight. Marc never looked back so I genuinely believe that he made a mistake, and could not match Jorge's pace shortly after.
Again, is it so far-fetched that perhaps come RACE time Vale and Marc had similar pace?
