One hell of a race, but....

Marques is a total d!c as far as I'm concerned. Only two races left and he's got something to prove?!! He has no chance at the championship and should have let Rossi battle it out with Lorenzo for top spot.

If I'm wrong please tell me I'm wrong and why.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility. I think with coming this close this year and not winning, he could retire. Next year, you know Honda is going to get better, and Lorenzo is still a threat. I don't think he will come this close to winning a championship again. I could be wrong, but this is how i see it.

I guess it depends on what will keep Rossi happy. Winning races or fighting for the championship. If it's the former, I think he'll be back. If it's the latter, I think he will give it some thought.
 
Next year is a guess for everyone, New tires (MIchelin) and standard electronics for everyone.... anything can happen.

Rossi has said he'll keep racing until he no longer enjoys it. I think (hope) he still have a few more years in him.

Yamaha has really improved this season...who knows what'll happen next season.

I wonder which rider will benefit from the Michelin's next year. I heard the rear tire is fantastic but the fronts still need work. I'm assuming the hard & late brakers will suffer and will probably suffer more front washing out? Will Lorenzo's style edge gripping style flourish? Or am I getting it all wrong?

Dorna is making some changes on MotoGP .com and it now puts my account ID in the live stream (since they changed the flash player setup a race or two ago) so I'd imagine they will put an end to me in the off season. If I'm still able you bet I will, but don't count on it!
