Money = Success? Moved from Pannon Thread

Re: Thank you all - shop closing - pannon moto sports inc.

May I also add money buys you time which nothing else can do. For example...if I spend x hours a week doing chores, cleaning my house, shopping for groceries, doing laundry, whatever necessary things to live I can't do things I enjoy or spend quality time with people I love during that time. When i Pay someone to take all that work away from me I have gained many hours a year to actually live. Therefore my enjoyable part of life is longer.

if you guys pay attention to where your money goes...then clearing 60k is a TON of money....taking home $5000/month that's a LOT!

Not if you stay in hotels that are 2000 a night or fly first class or private plane , own multiple cars, Have 2 homes, want a personal trainer multiple times a week, the best organic food, private healthcare, help at your house, ,have 3 kids college to pay for, need private nursing at home if you are sick, or want to go to the US to pay for an operation you need

Do you really need that $2000 night hotel, are you going to sleep any better or is your trip going to be that much memorable than spending a night in a sheridan hotel rather than the ritz?

Organic food.....the best you can get is the stuff you grow from your own garden cost is practically zero.

I agree that money can certainly be of help if you have a medical problem.

But if you need money to make your marriage easier, or make yourself feel better than i guess we are two completely different types.

The most depressed, stressed and angered people i see in everyday life seem to be the rich folk, they have everything except internal happiness.

Money can't buy me love...........

Bro in Toronto clubs, money is the only thing that buys you "love"

But I know what you are getting at. However money is typically something that drives people to do things they otherwise wouldn't do (beg, cheat, steal). If you have an abundance of it and have a balanced lifestyle where you don't become only obsessed with how much of it you can make then it really does solve a lot of your problems.

If I had my ideal house paid off, enough money to heat the ****er through the winter then I would seriously be happy to buy a bunch of fabrication equipment and lock myself away with my bikes. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it sure does buy a lot of things that make me happy. Like motorcycles, and the opportunity to travel and have different experiences, to eat the foods I like to eat, to pay for a gym membership to workout and feel good.

If I didn't have to worry about money it would definately change a lot of my "problems".

Well doubt you know rich folk. You know folks who have some money and are burdened by it or would be miserable regardless of money. If you define your life by need then you don't want anything and all you need is a roof, bread and water and a hole to **** in. You don't need a wife or children either but you want them. You cant grow food year round really. It's a pain n the *** and time consuming, our ancestors spent their whole waking day just trying to feed themselves, who wants to live like that. You agree that money will help with medical issues and you say money can't buy you love ( true) but if you love people you want the best for them and the best is only got by having the money to buy the best. In your case the best may be only the best medical care. In others case the best is medical care and all the other things. And yes I would say the vacations are better when you stay in exceptional places.look up jade mountain hotel in st Lucia, W hotel in the Maldives, Capella hotel Cabo San Lucas, blancaneaux lodge Belize, st Regis hotel bora bora, canaves oia santorini, sabi sabi lodge Africa, and on and on However some people even with tons of money can enjoy the Sheridan too but I think they are crazy!

I think that what money can buy you, if used wisely, is financial freedom. And in turn, this means control of what is most precious and that is your time. Money we can always make but time is the one thing that we never get back or get more of.

but if you love people you want the best for them and the best is only got by having the money to buy the best. In your case the best may be only the best medical care. In others case the best is medical care and all the other things. !

Ask average children what their best memories are. It's not how mommy and daddy bought them some designer clothes, or fancy vacations. It's that time when they were standing in line at the grocery store and they laughed at something.....or that other time they were in the back seat cheering their parents to go fast down the country road so they could feel like they were on a rollercoaster.

Happiness is the difference between what you have and what you expect.

How much money that takes depends on the person.

Some people expect so much out of life that no amount of money will make them happy.
Others are content with so little that an extra $20 in their wallet makes them feel rich.

A great deal of actual research has been done on this topic.
From what I've read, below a certain level of material comfort (not necessarily money, but access to basic needs and wants), you pretty much can't be happy unless you are Budha. But once you rise above that threshold, hapiness is entirely dependant on the brain chemistry and emotional intelligence of the individual, and not statistically correlated to their wealth.

Re: Thank you all - shop closing - pannon moto sports inc.

I would like to know where these teaching jobs starting at 48,000 a year and moving up to 84,000 a year that quickly are!!!

Teaching's not a difficult job for the right person. And it's a lot of work but has some great perks. It's a weird balance though that most people don't see. I worked 60-70 hour weeks in the school year, then I get the summers off....so it balances in my mind. Not complaining at all!!!

Money can do a lot of things for you.....but it can't buy you emotional maturity, stability, or happiness. To be truly happy you must be happy with the person that you are, not what you have or what you can do for others. It's how you conduct yourself.

Ask Murf. He's the one who posted the $48k a year. And I don't know what board you work for, but if you take your courses and put your time in...any teacher I know caps out at that top end pretty frikking quickly experiencing well in excess of the rest of the job sector's raises. The power of a union that holds the province's balls in its hand and a premier who panders to it definitely helps. Not saying I'm not envious...shoot, I'd love my summers off. Just don't come in here whining like you've got it so hard. (not that I'm saying you did)

Lots of people work 60-70 hour weeks...and those people do it year round.

As for Sonny...that guy is more than generous to RFS and other stuff. I'm just glad there are people like him who have money and are willing to help out those less fortunate. Keep up the good work man, you've got my thanks.

I donated to RFS as did a lot of other people, don't take this the wrong way i'm glad he did, but some of us don't feel the need to publicize the fact.

I recently took a boat ride with a really rich guy. When I mean rich I mean, "The smallest boat I've ever had is a 50 footer" kinda rich. There was about 12 of us on this boat enjoying a nice cruise around Parry Sound. The one thing I noticed about this guy is he was all business. No real show of emotion, very poker faced. He was nice and pleasant enough but never once did he look like he was enjoying himself. There was one point in the cruise where he did manage a smile...he cracked the throttle wide open on his 2, 10 cylinder 1000hp each diesel engines for about 10 minutes. Holy ****! I thought this giant yacht was gonna sprout wings and take off! As Puffy says, "Mo Money Mo Problems."

One of my favourite quotes is: "Money can't buy you happiness but poverty can't buy you ****!"

Not saying that it wouldnt be good.....or that you dont know where it goes....my money is in real estate for example, which has its own expenses such as mortgages etc...until of course that asset becomes paid off.

don't take this wrong way. I love when people say that. It means please take this the way I intend as an insult. I don't even remember donating to RFS or publicizing it but. Guess you are referring to when I wanted to give away money on my birthday? It seems the longer this discussion goes on the more I see a little underlying anger and envy in your personality, please don't take that the wrong way:lol:

mortgages cost less than renting....

His problem isn't money, it sounds like he is an uptight, unfulfilled boring ahole
