MAPLE LEAFS SUCK

As long as Bettman is in charge of the NHL I won't watch another game from any of the teams... the guy obviously despises Canadians.

This coming season will be all OHL or lower for me... where the real hockey is still.

Kessel but at what price.................just handing out first round picks like they grow on trees.

I thought Burke was going to be the one.................
Kessel for 2 First Round picks and a second round pick was a good trade, hes a 40 goal scorer in the NHL, hes not a guess or a shot in the woods.

Dude is 21 years old its not like they're trading the picks for a 35 yr old like most teams do this guy has 20 years still in him. This years 1st round pick was Kadri I doubt he is going to shape into anything, that IMO was a bad pick.

Plus... we will not be in top 10 picks this year or the next so our 1st round picks won't be as great a position as we were before.

Great trade in my opinion.

No doubt Kessel is a great pick up, even though he's still recovering from shoulder injury and won't be in the leafs line up until November.

But by trading away 1st rounders Burke has fallen into the same trap that all the GM's prior to him have done. Granted he 21 years old, but i wonder will history repeat itself when you look at all the other 1st rounder the leafs gave away to get players....owen nolan, brian leetch, tom kurvers etc etc. I know those guys are alot older but....

With this deal, Burke is trying to accelerate a five year plan into a two or three year by sacrificing the farm team depth. It was all agreed that after JFJ got fired that the leafs needed a complete overhaul, to keep all their picks and build up the farm team with prospects. Does Kessel even have line mates that are even worthy of first line duties in another NHL team? Kessel will be counted on like Sundin was to carry the team on his shoulders, maybe thats too much to ask for a 21 year old in this city.

I love PuckDaddy's quote.."Kessel Now Leafs' Potential Locker Room Problem.." I dunno..first-round picks can go horribly wrong..they're getting a young guy who's already proven he can play. Which of those 3 picks will play in the NHL in 3 or 4 years? One of them? So I dunno..they signed Bozak, Gustavsson and that other college kid. I think Burke's a smart guy and I can't imagine anybody within the organization is pressuring him into making any crazy moves. So..if Kessel isn't a cancer in the room..and they got a lot out of Blake last year, another notoriously difficult player, maybe it's not a bad deal.

How about Ottawa?? Michalek and Cheechoo for Heatley..I'm thinking Ottawa is going to look good on that deal.

Wilson fired, playoff run to begin again ;)

Wilson sucked.... but so does Burke....so the Leafs still suck.

I doubt Wilson told the goalies to deflect the puck in to their own net, told the defence to consistently cough up the puck in the Leafs zone, or told the forwards to stop scoring.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to sit with Wilson and Burke and give them a piece of my mind, but it seems like Toronto has a history of blaming the coaches, then the GM, THEN the players. Why is that?

How do you want to fire/trade 80% of the team and keep playing??? GM or the coach must go. The couch in question was not GM's choice, so he had to go. Simple concept.

Anyways, they got the wrong coach again .... Carlyle for a second youngest team??? (with a very good developmental couch waiting with 1st place Marlies ....). And for 3 years right of the bet? Why???? Burke has made some strange strange decisions lately ....

But who would we be making fun of all the time, if the Leafs got things right for one season?

Toronto Rock still in first place, looking for a repeat cup?

grrrrrrrr what's wrong with these Leafs down 1-0 midway through the game to the lowly habs.

People buy Leaf tickets because they are expensive and hard to get, not because the team is any good.

me and like 20 of my friends went to watch a Calgary game in the nose bleed section for $20 each. What's the cheapest for a Leafs game? $100?

Leafs win! I like this new coach so far he sees the value in the 2nd line putting Frattin in there was a smart move. The 1st line is terrible defensively. Poor Lupol. Did he give Connoly more playing time and with better players? I think it seemed like that because he seemed to play better in this game.

$35.50 - look up, look wayyyy up.

I think it was $3.50 when they last won the cup.
I seem to recall my grandparents giving up their tickets when the Leafs first started making goofy trades, and raising prices to $6.
