That was the joke. It's a known fact that KIA are the crappiest. Comparing to them is car humor. That you googled it thinking it wasn't a joke is sad but it's because you aren't a car guy.

McLaren could have built a 900HP NA V10 if it wanted to. They just want to showcase their F1 technology. Is there a point to Mclaren being in a Vette thread?

Basically you're starting a long list of who has a better kers cars than Honda.

They won't be buying their stuff off McLaren either but then again they are Honda. They need a transmission to hold 300 Ft/lbs..

Can your car hold 300? Maybe you could loan it to them.

LOL

The three guys left on the NSX project taking the BB approach to bringing a product to market while it's still relevant.

Did you go to the Toronto auto show yet?

I just got back, and I am presenting here on GTAM the world exclusive, first ever;

Showdown: Autoshow NSX vs. Autoshow Corvette!

Errr... guess that makes it an autoshowdown?

Challenge 1 - Performance
NSX doesn't move.
'vette laps Nurburgring in record time.
Vette wins this round

Challenge 2 - Comfort and amenities
NSX has room for one bleached blonde barbie with her animal print handbag.
'vette has room for one bleached blonde barbie with all her animal print luggage.
NSX takes this one

Challenge 3 - Price
NSX cost about a mil.
'vette goes for 80 grand.
Winner: 'vette

Challenge 4 - Styling
NSX can be hung on a wall with only a regular picture hook, to match any home decor.
'vette requires the construction of a garage built to fire code.
NSX wins this challenge

Challenge 5 - Fuel consumption
NSX burns no fuel at all.
'vette fuel consumption is greater than zero.
Advantage: NSX

Challenge 6 - Audio system
NSX is quieter than a mouse.
'vette's almighty thundering exhaust puts the fear of god into women and children.
Another win for Chevy.

Conclusion - A tie game for two very different but highly competent cars. If money is no object and you have the space in your living room, the Autoshow NSX might be for you. On the other hand if you enjoy a little badassery in your life, get the Autoshow Corvette.

That was a very "Top Gear" inspired review, well played.

Maybe you should read the content of your own links beyond the bold headlines before posting?

"U.S. car makers such as GM are seeking government fund aid as they could run out of operating funds any time. But the aim of using government loans [for Honda and Toyota] would be strategic moves" to boost sales, said Yasuaki Iwamoto, an analyst at Okasan Securities."

"Unlike their U.S. counterparts, Japanese car makers have plenty of cash on hand, "

The Japanese were nowhere near Bankruptcy, like GM was and didn't require a bailout to save their @$$.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mot...-bail-out.html

"Honda Racing could apply for a bail-out from the British government in order to secure their survival."

They "could" have, but they wanted out. They were confident they would find a buyer and they did.

"The Honda F1 team became the UK's first high-profile casualty of the global credit crisis after their Japanese parent company withdrew funding."

Honda wanted out of F1. They voluntarily withdrew, they werent forced to do this. They felt it wasn't worth the cash they were blowing. Toyota and BMW did the same thing.

GM made 5 billion in 2012, far from losing money, if Canada and US protected the auto sector like Japan and most countries do with 5% import laws they would still be the biggest in the world.

P1 is being unveiled Tuesday in Woking. Unlike the Acura, it is driveable.

Ha... nice job on the showdown, my toughts were exactly the same. The Corvette is one badass car on the road.

I'll take you up on this, how much you want to bet that this car will be very real?

Think carefully before you bet, they're returning to F1 again as the new engine formula is better features energy recovery systems and high efficiency. Something car manufacturers will be interested in developing for their road cars through F1 technology.

We clearly read articles through different lenses. I got this:

"Honda pulled out of F1 after years of poor results with its own team,"
"McLaren are first expected to race with Honda engines in 2015."
"Mercedes, which currently supplies McLaren's engines, said it could not comment on its partner's plans, but its F1 executive director Toto Wolff said: "We are looking for a long-term engine supplier relationship with McLaren-Mercedes."
"Honda president Takanobu Ito on 8 February admitted that the company was "studying" the idea of an F1 return.
The company has not yet officially confirmed its plans to return."

A lot of rumours and assumptions from what it looks like to me. Hardly a confirmation that Honda is back in F1. Doesn't even sound like Mercedes is completely out of the picture for a second year on that 2014-2015 option. Really isn't solid proof that Honda is releasing an NSX in the next three years ... you may not want to be so quick to bet hard-earned money on speculation and rumour, oh and that weird honda fanboyism of yours. what's up with that anyway?! reliability is hardly an exciting trait!

Whatever you do, don't mention the A word.

Or any word that starts with a small case i followed by capitalization of the second letter, for that matter.
