F1 has been and always will be from a standing start. There is no pace car. And you'll never see a roadster as the F1 safety car as it has no room for all the safety gear and com equipment it carries on board.

Safety car is just another term for pace car. And the SLS has already been used to pace the field;

I don't understand how this plane Jane honda shell even looks remotely 'luxury'. Put it next to an E class, A6 or 5 series, and it disappears.

That's why spin was invented. Any further questions?:D

Time for Acura to rejuvenate their frontal look & fire their designer

Sent from my Phone, dont judge the grammar

In 2009, maybe.

Welcome to the future, Sandro.

You're going to have to wait till the NHTSA stops dragging their feet like they did with projectors/HIDs back in the late 90s, though.

LED lamps aren't the "future", they're here, for a few years now. Audi's matrix LED is sure unique but you can still find LED headlights on a low rent Kia.

AFAIK there is nothing in the antiquated DOT regulations that prohibit LED headlamps, but the compliance issue relates to the active-matrix arrangement that Audi has developed - the idea being that you drive around with high beam on all the time, and it actively disables selective portions of the beam pattern to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. The Acura system doesn't do that, and automated headlight systems that select "low beam" as a whole (not just portions of the beam pattern) can be compliant - but not the active-matrix design, which is far more advanced.

As for the Acura RLX ... I don't think Acura has the brand image to make it a success. Acura needs a new Integra far more than they need this! (and the ILX ain't no Integra)

Ain't that the truth.

A decade ago, everyone and their grandmother was after an Integra GSR or TYPE-R. NOw they're just re-badged Civics. Going the way of GM...

x2 It seems most automakers want to get into the luxury segment, where they fail miserably. Just look at the new corollas.

Which one?

I don't follow low tier automakers like Kia or GM, but I recall coming across this article mentioning the 2012 Kia Soul having LED headlamps of some sort. Whether these made it to production, and/or made it as an upgrade option, I don't know, nor do I care. But it does prove that LED headlights are fairly common nowadays if Kia is installing them. Heck, you can even buy aftermarket ones from eBay China for just about any make of car these days.

They don't. Sunny's just ****** because the sales of the RLX he was gushing about back in December have tanked miserably.

More nonsense spewing from the master FMJ.

If you click on this thread, you will note that I had the opportunity to attend an a special event hosted by Acura last year where we were able to see the 2014 RLX in its finished state before its official release to the public.

I'm not a blind fanboy like other people I know, and will call a spade a spade, and tell it like it is.

Although, IMHO, the RLX looked much nicer in person, than in pictures and tv commericals........

Note my words at Post 18 : "Oh, in case you are wondering, it looks like an upscale 2013 Honda Accord. Disappointingly, its front wheel drive, (future versions will get a hybrid AWD system). The interior is smallish, and the beltline has risen and the windshield isn't as expansive as Hondas in the past. Acura will have a hard time moving these things just like the last gen. People in this market range don't want front wheel drive."

============

If I can trust the early reports, the next generation technology of Hybrids look real exciting. The upcoming RLX with Sport Hybrid SH-AWD should be the one to watch, as it will be a similar system to what will be employed in the upcoming NSX, where 2 electric motors power the rear axle. targets are a claimed 370hp and 30mpg. Thats my kind of technology.

Ah, how I miss my little Gisser. Burnt out the clutch in 70k doing so many smoky burnouts. Those were the good ole days. :)
