3.9 sec. 0-60? Not too impressive from a pure sports car. Hell, Audi's S8 luxury 4 door barge (sedan) weighs 1400 lbs. more (3300 vs. 4700 lbs.), and does 0-60 in 3.5. I guess the tuners will have a field day with them once their owners realize they're not that quick.
 
Isn't this Vette just the regular one? If it is, that's pretty good. The Z06 when it comes out will be a lot faster.
 
Meh. Just another pos GM. Real performance cars have the engine behind the drivers seat, ala F1, nsx, Porsche, ferrari, McLaren.

Any 4wd/AWD car can have a great 0-60 time. Now take that Audi pig and have it turn/stop like a real sports car, that would be a feat. Corvette's aren't only about 0-60 times.

And when the ZR1 comes out, that will in a position like GTR and make most supercars twice the cost look just stupid =)

I guess you missed that part. If I were an exec at GM I'd be embarrassed if someone else's 2 1/2 ton luxo-boat could out accelerate my company's sports car (base model not withstanding).

Hate on the 'Vette all you want, it consistently gets comparable reviews to the super cars you list and costs one-third the price. Blind hatred for one and misplaced loyalty to another auto brand is simply ignorant.

Didn't miss anything, it's still a barge. 0-60 and 1/4 mile times aren't the only reason you buy a car and I bet (since there are no production cars out yet) that the little ol C7 will run pretty similar 1/4 mile times. The ONLY reason the S8 is so quick to 60 is AWD and most likely short gearing. Try that barge on a roll on and it'll be a different story for sure and when the first turn shows up then I'd be embarrassed to have my 2.5 ton barge handle so poorly compared to the likes of it's real competition the M5.

And for the record, I think it's neat that the Barge is that quick.

Off topic but that's wrong info.

S8 is not vs M5, but B7. And B7 is slower altho it has 100+hp more, and handles like **** compared to S8.
S8 is the superhero of that class as it also has ridiculous quarter and 0-60 times.

Geez, I guess since the S2000 wasnt a performance car its been an awfully long time since Honda even build any performance cars. Lol
