Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

I went to St Thomas & St Maarten on a cruise in March. A watch-lovers paradise. The 200k diamond crusted watches on open display were some serious eye candy. Picked up a Tissot there for a great price. Depending on your bankroll, you could have you trip (about 5k) paid for with the savings on watches & jewelry.

If you ever watch House, he wears the same watch but on a leather strap

I just picked up this Hamilton King automatic.

A buddy has a couple TT1's, at used prices they're a good deal

Non-standard lug width drives me nuts, the price for their straps is absolutely obscene to boot. I think the plain rubber is around $180

Actually if you google just that.... watches $1000 - $2000

you will get a lot of matches to read through.

Taste is subjective but this is nice @ $1550....

I did that (or similar, hit those two destinations) cruise Feb 2010. Pacific Princess Emerald cruise ship. St. T is where I got my Breitling. Amazing selection along those streets.

This was docked outside the Louis Vuitton shop in the cove just east of Charlotte Amalie..

€ 650 000 a week to charter. Minimum two weeks per outing but hey, you get a free helicopter :)

Did the same when in St. Lucia a few years ago and picked up a basic Tissot PR50.
I wasn't planning to buy anything but the watch I had at the time died so I figured, what the heck!.
Of course, the first thing I did when I got home was to call jewellers aroundto find out if I indeed saved money (I did).

Seeing as how some of you rich freaks can afford watches worth thousands of dollars :D , perhaps one of you would like a custom wood box to stick it in?
I made a Flickr folder with a couple listed, take a look, have a bunch more in the works. http://www.flickr.com/photos/agave-1969/sets/72157627768701499/

As far as watches go, maybe someone into Volkswagon would be interested in this item.
I bought a GTI in 1985, it came with some nifty items as a promo package.
One of the items was this watch. It was not available for sale to my knowledge.
I have searched high and low on the internet to find one like it, no luck so far.
Its fairly small, i'd call it a womans watch by todays standards, or a dress watch for men, or people with smaller wrists i guess.
The round face is 1 1/4" diameter.
The front has a small logo and Volkswagen, it says water resistant 40m quartz and has a Roman numeral XII and VI, dots for the rest.
The back has a VW logo stamped into it and Stainless Steel Back Volkswagen Water resistant 40M
Also some numbers 103 720357

That's some nice work. I have a ten slot one from Bombay & Co that does the job, not as nice as yours though

just now I was leaning on my elbow, plam covering my ears, and I hear mechanical gears grinding LOL...my watch made me sound like a robot! awsome!

I've got this:

Seiko_5_SNXE99K.jpg

It was a step up from my old timex. The face is actually dark blue, not black.

My main problem with watches is that companies are making them too god damned big. I have rather skinny arms, and most watches looking ****ing ridiculous on my wrists. This one's nice and small, without being flashy or overly expensive. I quite prefer to not broadcast my salary (or alternatively, how much debt I'm in) with my material goods.

Seiko 5s are all good watches built around the same pretty sturdy japanese automatic movement. I have a divers one but there's dress ones too etc. All are about $100 from Amazon etc. Mine has a display back which is see through and of course they never need batteries.

Its not even good at that too!
But in case u're wondering, I did take it off my wrist for 15mins before I take the reading.

I would've gotten this one if it weren't too big for my wrist. It gives a graph of changes in barometric press. and altitude.

There's a new slim version of that Pathfinder which is also solar powered I think...still bigger than many other watches though but a big improvement on the first beast.

All titanium TX goodness...

The quality of the watch is great, plus you can snorkel with that.

Anybody seen the citizen watch that synchronizes itself with the Atomic clock?? Think of your watch being on time all the time and never need to worry about the wrong date :)

Casio ones do that too...google Casio Atomic Solar for the ones that never need batteries and stay synched.

Selling this brand-new-in-the-box Oakley Jury II if anybody is interested. Still has the plastic on it.

$275.

Anyone have a Montblanc? I like the Timewalker automatics because they're a clean simple design.. Not sure if they're worth the 2-3k tag though.

Always worth it if you like it...

but

it might not be if you are looking to sell it in the future. Its one of the entry watch from the Montblanc product line, it likly will not appreciate in value
