Caught a racoon running around the pool on the security cam a few mornings ago, we was trying to get to a duck that was swimming from one side to the other. I didn't realize they went for live prey, I thought they only ate roadkill and garbage.
They are mean sob's. They will jump on you or a dog if they feel that is their best option. Nothing says fun like 20 lbs of ****** off claws and teeth.

The gun is legal. I don't have a hunting license so I'm not allowed to hunt. I'd have to check bylaws as to legality of shooting. I'd be less concerned with a ricochet from a pellet. The best options I have easily available are shotgun, 22 or high power crossbow. They all have too much energy for the space available.
When living in south Scarborough, the trash bandits would climb my back stairs and use my balcony as their outhouse. Bought a live trap, when caught, into a 45 gallon drum filled with water. Dump the carcass in the ravine out back. Coyotes and fox ate well.
When back up north,I shot a racoon square in the head between the eyes with a 22 hollow point. Just ricocheted off. He shook his head and ran off. Better a gut shot, hit the lungs. Good luck getting rid of them in the GTA.

"Toronto's police force has won the unfortunate distinction of winning (if you can call it a win) The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) 2022 Code of Silence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Government Secrecy, in the law enforcement category.
The CAJ states that TPS was awarded the "honour" for "its repeated efforts to block journalists from accessing information needed to hold taxpayer-funded agencies accountable.""
10 ******* years? At what point should they be saying ok, buddy. Maybe you should take a package and go find a less stressful occupation, like the screw department at Rona, or a greeter at Wally World.

EDIT:
Doesn't look good for the cop. Only a couple pictures available. It looks like either the cop was headed north (no stop sign) and absolutely hauling ass and the bus pulled out of a stop sign on him or more likely, cop was headed east and had a stop sign that he didn't stop for. Bus was headed north with no stop sign. Cop car ended up about 130m north of intersection. Bus ended up just northwest of the intersection.
That being said, I have absolutely zero faith that the colision investigation will assign any fault with their fallen comrade. That doesn't support the narrative and everybody involved is dead.

Wow. I just looked at Google Maps and I don't even want to think about the speed necessary for the unmarked car to end up that far down, after shearing the front end off a bus.
Even on-duty should be taken with a grain of salt. The one that died in Uxbridge or stouffville in a head on while driving to work was written up as an on-duty death. Dont let the truth impede the narrative. If anyone else was in that situation, it would not count as a workplace incident.
They also have real-time (or almost realtime) position being transmitted to dispatch. I don't expect any of this information to see light. The only way we'll see information is if the bus pulled out and they with throw that driver under the bus while leaving out that the cop was going mach bejeezus at the time.

Other coverage has police advocates beating the drum of "one death is too many and this has to stop". Wtf. Don't run stop signs into the path of vehicles with the right of way. What has to stop is always playing the victim card even when you are clearly at fault.
