The last thing you're going to want, and I mean EVER, is for people to be arbitrarily stopped and checked for ID. Ever. Let me stress that one more time so you fully understand:

The very single last thing you are going to want EVER, is for the authorities to stop people at random and ask them for ID to make sure their "papers are in line". Do you understand? Ev-fckn-er.

As soon as you cross that line, be prepared to lose the lives of loved ones, and even yourself, soon thereafter. Don't believe me? Ask any Jew who knew someone who was alive circa 1930s in Deutschland.

It's not as if Canada played no role in that scam. Our troops were over there too, and our defense minister went as far as suggesting a ground force invasion.

Toronto police were supposed to get a few of these and new uniforms, for a 1 year evaluation of the bike....I havent heard if they are actually keeping them after the 1 year, and or if they will be getting more?

I have seen a couple outside Old City Hall a few weeks ago. I can't imagine why they wouldn't keep them, unless cost is a significant factor.

It just got caught on tape. The last bit is really outrageous. 6 years vs 1.5 years.

Police everywhere do it. Turkish or otherwise. The "blue wall" also. I have known friends at an earlier age who got "the phone book" or varient forms of it here in Toronto.
 
Ive personally gotten a lot worse from TPS. I've had three officers hold me down by my arms and repeatedly punched me in the face. One of the officer's choked me until I was unconscious. When I woke up bloodied and bruised; I threw up on one of the officers. The officer responded with banging the back of my head against a concrete wall. All three officers denied it ever happened on the stand. I then went to complain to the independent police review service, and they sent me to contact the police officers direct supervisor. What a ******* joke.

Does it matter? What could he have possibly done that would justify such treatment?

We're supposed to be civilized. We do not practice capital punishment in this country.

I can think of lots of things that warrant a beatdown.

But that's not why I asked. I was just curious to know how he wound up in that situation. Either way those cops are the essence of 'pigs'.

I had a cop dump my jacket on the ground, step all over it and wipe his muddy feet on it before pushing me a couple of times. I was at a protest that was attended by the media, so he couldn't get too violent in public view. My crime: being there in the first place. I was just showing up, they had already checked me for weapons and my knuckles for (non-existent) signs of fighting, so this was just that cop being a dick. The cop was ****** off because one of his buddies got injured in a previous altercation that I had nothing to do with. He was also threatening a general beatdown on the protesters, but fortunately, the little troll was more bark than bite. Considering his attitude, I'm glad he didn't have me in a confined space out of the public view.

You can be suspended without pay here, too. It depends upon the nature incident and the evidence against you. It's pretty hard to refute video.
