Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

So they are targeting sport bikes but admit that the cars are the real problem... Police work at it's finest.

Another thing that pisses me off is that the Honda civic with that....im going to use the word...."distinct" noise.....i mean muffler is NOT getting pulled over but....again we are?! REALLY?!?!? Sorry just really pisses me off i was driving and a cop pulls over a GXR that i didnt even hear becuase of the 1978 Honda civic was sooooo loud!
And yes i agree the po po are profiling...there are still stereotypes out there that are ridiculous....coming from a girl that rides an R1

Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

If you are too thin-synapsed to see anything but black and white, I'd say yes. As far as I know, not one charge has been laid against any of the thugs that policed the G20 and that includes any of the people who were in charge of the event. If there is to be no transparency and no accountability from our police forces, then yes: we're living in a police state. When the police feel they can wipe their posteriors with the charter of rights, then yes: we're living in a police state. When the police can give punishment without trial, then yes: we're living in a police state. When the police can take the property of any person for any reason and never convict, or even charge a person with a crime, then yes: we're living in a police state. When the police can demand your identity and destination without showing probable cause, then yes: we're living in a police state (World War II was sold to the public largely on this issue). When the police can surveil the public at any time and by any means, then yes: we're living in a police state. When the police can either fine or arrest you for one or multiple laws from approximately 10,000 that you are expected to know (and can't possibly), then yes: we're living in a police state. If you can no longer legally refuse to convict yourself by statement, then yes: you are living in a police state.

Ontario is positive for all those tests. And that's just off the top of my head.

You really need to read the thread I mentioned to Shaman too. The reality of the situation is quite a bit different than you imagine it to be...a sample set of your immediate friends isn't representative.
do you have a link? I don't know what to search, nor how to do it.

Sadly, you are 100% right. This is not the same place I was born and raised. I barely recognize Canada now.

Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

Where is the crackdown on crooked cops? Where is the crack down on cops who violate citizens rights?

In your opinion...and not many others.

Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

"And while police say they’ve got their eyes open for sport motorcycle riders who might hit the roads too aggressively"

And how will we notice this as a deviation from the rest of the year? Total ********, they always have a hardon for motorcycles, especially sport bikes.

Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

Just your average, educated, non-paranoid citizen that doesn't feel threatened by the police in any way.

Average maybe. The rest, I'd need convincing.

Sadly, you are 100% right. This is not the same place I was born and raised. I barely recognize Canada now.

Please elaborate. And exactly how much of Canada have you seen?

LOL @ this thread. You'd think it was winter or something around here.

I've managed service territories for Yamaha and Suzuki Canada on a semi national basis everywhere between Montreal and Vancouver over the last 10 years. I just returned to Ontario after 3 years in Vancouver where, the police there don't exactly have a stellar reputation either (Monty robinson RCMP who ran over and killed kid on sportbike whilst drunk, left scene, returned later.......same cop who was in charge of the tazering that killed Djukanski at the airport a year earlier.......shall I go on??) I know of lots of misconduct by POLICE including singling out groups for "special treatment".

Re: RCMP taser 11 year old boy

Hmmm? Dont have that.
But you have proven your able to twist words. Or your reading skills may not be up to par.
I'm not twisting words, your actual quote was "A punch in the face can be lethal as well.", so I asked for proof. Maybe you're new to forums but your actual post is quoted above my response. Looks like it is your reading skills that are the issue.

Re: RCMP taser 11 year old boy

Report said they "coaxed" the kid out and then tasered him. I have an 11 yr old. I can take him with one arm....unless he has a long stick. :p

Hmm...citizen check..dual actually, non-paranoid..seems evident...check, educated...well I have a PhD, a few postdocs, quite a few papers and a handful of patents does that count...guess so..check. Experience outside this country? ...check.

Tin foil hat? No..sorry. I'd need to borrow one.

Oh...yes forgot to say don't feel threatened by police too...I don't look over my shoulder as I don't stand out and don't act like an assclown on the roads and I'm capable of using my brain to control the nerves and tendons and ligaments in my right hand to make sure the throttle doesn't do stupid things.

not a punch to the head but still a punch http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/news/local_news/111609_teen_charged_in_chest-punching_death

not to mention all the boxing deaths.

police are (or at least should be) trained in other methods than beating or zapping people to subdue them.

Re: York Region Police and OPP announce CRACKDOWN ON SPORTBIKES

Crackdown on sportbikes? Spring is in the air at last!
