And you mister!?!?! Dont be tainting this perfectly good "thread" with facts and truth and such.

Dude did wrong. Was charged. Convicted. And will pay. Just like anyone.

Crazy....what is the world coming to.

You're being an ******* with that kind of comment, as is your habit. The cop went way over the line, and the police service is not only vigorously denouncing his actions as being totally unacceptable, but was the driving force in prosecuting him with video that only they had access to and which they could have easily "disposed" of if they had a mind to. But they didn't have that mind to, except maybe in your petty little conspiracy fantasy world.

That type of stuff, that you posted happens on a routine basis.

No it doesnt. Or prove that it does. This kind of thing "a cop being conviced in court not in the GTAM whine-threads" does not happen all the time. It's investigated reasonably often, but seldom gets to this point.

I'm sure you all know why that is.....cover-ups....pay offs.....dirty cops schemeing......

You do realize that there are authors out there besides Tom Clancy right? Other paper things, with words in them, that talk about all kinds of OTHER things.

You should try it.

The smart make lemonade from lemons. I'd throw somebody under the bus for a much needed public relations coup. That'll shut up the great unwashed. But that's not what this is about.:D

Guy, its you that is way off here, living in a nice white picket fence ideal.

I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak, saw the crap that went down on a daily/nightly/weekly basis, in front of my building, in the hallways etc..

worked in some industries that people would call "shaddy"-- although legit, tax paying enterprises.

Not to get into personal dealings and such, but the part i bolded, because of the "job" i had, i have seen all of the above. More then once/twice-- lets say on a routine basis. I have also seen other such enterprises that refused to "play along" and saw what happened to those and how they got screwed.

So do me a favor, kid, keep living in your ideal white picket fence world, just like in a movie, but do not try to belittle the actual reality of the way things work in the grown up world.

And without the video we never would have known about it right?

It was not like someone was shooting with a cell phone from the bushes. The video came from an in-police-car camera that could easily have been kept from the light of day if the cops so desired. Also, the taser was never actually used so there was no other physical or medical evidence that it ever happened other than the video. Who's going to believe the perp in handcuff in the back seat without any evidence? Point is, they didn't suppress the video when they so easily could have.

This prosecution against a cop was cop-driven all the way. The conduct was way over the line and not excusable by any measure, and other Toronto cops held this Toronto cop accountable for it. So much for the Blue Wall.

+1, thats to bad they'll use this as a goodwill jesture for the people.

but i bet he still gets his paycheck as they will call for a retrail and drag it out till it's out of peoples mind.:snorting:

As "they" call for a retrial? "They" were the ones who actively prosecuted him to conviction. Why would "they" call for a retrial?

Uh huh, cop driven all the way, yup, i guess the defense attorney asking for discloure and filing for the footage had nothing to do with it at all....right. And without the video evidence we would have still seen the other attending cops actually testify against the bad one....right

Why are the TPS against having cameras installed in all of there cruisers? Not 1% or 10%, 100% Why will they only agree to it if there is an on/off switch?

he's in the union right? and his rights have been violated.

and 100 other excuses before it's done. as THEY will turn this into the cop being the victim

Well, isn't THAT a little telling? The cops have been relying on that little nugget of Captain Obvious for a long time. I'm glad to see you're up to speed.

Will do. But keep your grey structure tough guy **** to yourself as well ok? Somehow, i'm supposed to differr my ideals of how a society should work to some self-professed ****** who leaverages his shady past to some flavor of "Righteousness " .
What a pantload.

You dont know **** about me. My upbringing. Or what i chose to do with what i learned from the world while scrabbbling my way through it all.

Like most of these infantile threads, you know about 1/4 of what someone might want to know about any given situation to draw the conclusions you pretend are reliable and just.

Such BS.

Human nature. Dude is a moron. Did a bad thing. Was convicted. If you were him, and there was no camera. You'd fight it too.

Remember.....we are supposed to fight everything...even when we are guilty. I'm pretty sure you stand up for just such an ideal dont you?

I aint no tough guy and im not a smart guy like you either.

Why is that people like you get so upset when their fragile view of the world is challenged.

Your the guy that constantly belittle's people in threads that you disagree with and push this holier then though attitude.

Here a clue for you, its served me well in life. Dont open your mouth when you dont have clue about how things really work.

Yea, i have cop buddies as well, real buddies that go back a long way, that actual tell me the way things are, how much they hate it but they can;t change etc.. Yea what you hear on TV is one thing what goes on in the locker room in another.

I have a unique perspective in this regard, i have seen both sides of the fence, seen the dirty to the proper- straight arrow police officer as well.

It is what it is, bring the bad to light can only help and make a better police force, pretending it never happens like in some fairy tale world only makes things worse.

I dont anything about you, but your fairy tale view of the world implies that you have not seen the dirty nitty gritty side and because of this you fail to acknowledge anything that goes against your beleif.

Ive always said that the majority of police are great guys, they do serve and protect, its the tiny majority, that abuse their privilage that I cant stand. The fact that other cops-union-management protects them bother me. Its a disgrace to all off the good guys out there, yet this **** still happens, on a routine basis.

You really think he'll pay? FFS wake up - he's getting paid to stay home for a year:

Hominuk, 37, pleaded guilty last Monday to one count of threatening bodily harm in the west Toronto incident. He’ll be sentenced in June and has been suspended with pay since he was charged last June.

Let's keep this thread on track; debating law enforcement tactics, ethics and problems. There is no need to swing at one another.
