Holy Batman whats with the police bashing?? Can't we all just get along?
Do a Google search on "police brutality" and see how many links come up. Just those two words together got me "About 6,940,000 results" I think the subject has enough credibility to be worth talking about, don't you?
Did the google search on "police brutality" - got About 1,960,000 results (0.17 seconds)
Also did a google search on shark attacks - got About 2,750,000 results (0.09 seconds)
It seems that 1984 has come, but only for the police. If people spent as much time and effort spying on each other as they do on the police, we would not need police at all.
Deleting/moving to trash would be too obvious.. There's full access out there but you can't hold multiple discussions in the same thread, so they all get swept under the rug in plain sight. It's out in the open but in a format where nobody can really discuss anything.
I googles "Police Heroes". Over 40 million results.
So if the bulk of police are actually good people, why wouldn't they be wanting to ween out the bad ones? This would make their job easier. You wouldn't read "over 100 witnesses, but nobody is willing to speak to police" or any of the negative media that comes from the 'bad cops' abusing normal citizens (well, some of the victims are handicapped, disabled, underage, etc). They could have respect again instead of being viewed as bullies.
I considered a career change and becoming a cop a couple years ago, but came to the conclusion that I can't be mean to people on a daily basis as part of my job. This was the largest factor in deciding it wasn't for me.
If they truly are good people, it would be in their best interest to eliminate the bad ones that are ruining their reputation.
Due to the recent changes on GTAM regarding the posting of police brutality, it has been suggested that we find somewhere else to talk about these issues.
Some police supporters on this site defend the 'bad' cops even as they are going down in court. This only helps cement my feelings and thoughts that all cops are bad.
Since I was more/less forced to find another site to follow up with the social problem of police brutality, I did some research and found www.copwatch.net . What surprised me the most is that a good portion of people on there are/were cops. But unlike some of the supporters on GTAM, these are the minority of officers who truly are 'good' cops and can't deal with watching their co-workers abuse people and hide behind the blue line.
Some are in hiding because they have exposed cases of brutality and they now fear harm from the 'bad' officers if they find out who they are.
