Re: Innocent Man In Coma After 'Hard Shove' By Police Officer

Since we live in a civilized society in which even we don't assume everybody is a crazed lunatic.

I would guess the majority of LEO's have an "us vs the perps" mentality.

We are all against them.... this way of thinking is becoming more apparent as time goes on. I hope it doesn't turn around and bite them in the a**...

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

I see they've edited the article. It originally said they were charged Tuesday morning. No hope in hell of an 11b if you get charged and convicted on the same day. :p

Re: Innocent Man In Coma After 'Hard Shove' By Police Officer

Right everybody who runs from the cops are incorrectly identified and are innocent. Lets err on the side of caution because we'd rather them get away or have a cop stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver than have of them get hurt....

I dont know why you guys bother arguing with this guy. After the thread involving first degree murder it is clear he could never admit he is wrong, even when it is clear to absolutely everyone.

It becomes us vs. then as soon as we become uncooperative and clearly have something to hide.

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

so lets see, 09 till today yup that pretty much spells it out for time served with pay.

Re: Suicide by cop

Imagine how much longer he would have lasted if he had body armor (which you can purchase). I suspect he wasn't a martyr, just some one that hated cops.

If the guy hated cops so much and didn't have some kind of anti-gun-related agenda, why wouldn't he build an IED and set it off? Crazy or not, he certainly wasn't too smart. Body armor would have only prolonged and increased return fire. I couldn't even imagine!

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

Don't even care to read the article. I get it you guys can't stand cops. This is getting so ridiculous and I don't understand why the moderators are allowing so much hate towards cops on the site. Sorry Freestyle this is totally not geared to you but to all the bash cop threads.

I don't understand this point of view. Unless I'm really missing something (entirely possible) the hate is only for bad cops. Please advise.

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

So let me understand this....
-Two cops beat up a disabled man
-Get two years suspension with pay
-Probably still keep their job since the Toronto Police Force stands behind them (???)
-Toronto Police disappointed with the judges decision

Maybe the time has come where judges are tired of all the abusive police. Hats off to the judge.

turning a blind eye to the issue doesn't make it right, or make it go away...

If i created a thread about a kid who assaulted a disabled man, would you scream to the mods to stop bashing kids?

It's not that we hate cops, we hate bad cops and we hate that there appears to a second set of rules for police (and politicians). If I attacked a disabled (or even a drunk) man I wouldn't get to keep my job and get paid for the time suspended. Not being able to show up for work I'd be fired. That the police association thinks that the cops should be able to behave in this manner means the ugly goes to the bone.

Milan Rupic or someone like him will twiddle his thumbs until they get off on 11b.

I've had friends who are cops, and I considered being a cop just two years ago. These two cops beat up a disabled man, broke his ribs, all in the name of 'safety' because they say they thought he was drunk and might hurt himself. If you agree with the police point of view, please, don't ever 'help' me!

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

Just seems like you guys are only pointing out the bad cops and not the good ones. If you guys knew anything about me I am not the type to turn a blind eye to anything that is going on wrong around me. It totally pisses me off that these jerk offs of cops are allowed to hold a badge and do not have any common sense and make all cops look bad. It also pisses me off that even when the cop hasn't really done anything wrong but just looks wrong to the public eye you guys bash him/her like crazy.

Paul maybe you can make a section for this like you said you were, and put all the threads in there so that people can see how ridiculous this has become.

Not saying that at all Chris. Totally not right that they are doing things like that. Just saying that I'm getting sick of people going way out of thier ways to look for this stuff to post here and to stirr up crap. Not all cops are like that and it's not right to assume that because stuff like this happens that they are all bad.

Re: Two Toronto police officers found guilty of assaulting a disabled man

They're expected to be a good cop. Thats why they're a bloody cop. Anything less and you shouldn't get paid.

Simple

It's a lot simpler than that, it's a matter of preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. We all do it in our daily lives but we don't all risk confrontations with violent people like the police do. When cops assume the worst so they can make it through the day, it looks a lot more violent than what you or I do to get through the day.
