Toronto inspector chris boddy, currently assigned to the wellness unit got pinched for impaired driving. Suspended with pay, 30 years on the force. I dont see any possible outcome other than paying him for years to not work and them him retiring with full pension (jacked up by his last few years of pay without work).

I've always wondered if police across different regions 'help' one another..
Guess not...
It depends. My old neighbour was a cop that didn't play along with thin blue line crap. If he saw someone doing something wrong, they were getting written up. He was transferred to health and safety and training decades ago. I doubt his attitude was appreciated.

Not that DWI is not a serious offence it is worse IMO if he was on-duty vs off-duty. I think for most employers the big issue for a DWI on your own time would be your ability to get to work and your ability to do your job if it includes driving....

As for the thin blue line, a few years back a Toronto cop basically got drummed out of the force for handing out a DWI to a non-Toronto off-duty. Hopefully times are changing.

Nope times aren’t changing

Agree on DWI. I still think the way charges are dealt with is ridiculous. He was charged by a different police force. Why does he get a paid vacation months or years long? It's not like he can walk into the evidence locker and destroy things. He should keep working until convicted (or not) and as I constantly harp, PSA enforcement (or determination of no enforcement required) should happen ASAP. This isn't a complex criminal trial where years of investigation are required. He was supposedly driving impaired. All of the evidence is documented and the criminal charge laid, proceed with PSA investigation.

A friend's son-in-law was a cop and was escorted home at +.08 three times by his buddies. They then told him he had struck out. He eventually quit the force.

Whoops. Three car crash closed much of the qew with a cop car as the hammer.

Schmidt says the cruiser rear-ended another vehicle with three occupants, causing it to hit a third car. Four people, including an officer, were taken to hospital with minor injuries

To soon to say if the officer will be charged.

Anytime I’ve seen something like this. Car rear ending another car charges was laid on the spot

Cop points his gun at another cop while at work, gets criminally charged and suspended with pay for years while it works its way through the criminal justice system. I maintain that the current system is crap. Complete PSA investigation/charges/trial now and deliver that verdict asap. You shouldn't require a criminal conviction to get fired for pointing a gun at coworkers.

Didnt two Niagara cops get into a gunfight with each other within the last couple of years.. Lol

Trial for that one is circling the drain three years after the shooting. A key witness had looked through the entire SIU investigation even though they should never have seen it. Apparently cop A assaulted cop B. Cop B then shot cop A. Cop A is on trial for assault. IIRC, cop B was investigated by SIU and it was determined that criminal charges were not warranted.

The Fifth Estate interviewed Parker's brother for a story on him and the numerous complaints against him. One quote I remember - "If my brother started banging on my door I'd jump out the window, and I live on the third floor."

I was rear ended by a cop. (it's fun to curse out a cop when you have good reason)

I don't think she was charged.

My parents were rear ended by a cop in stop and go traffic on the 401 in toronto. Cop flipped on the cherries and took off up the shoulder. They filed a report but were told there were no police in the area at the time. No dashcam so they couldnt do anything else.

He was charged at some point... and the charges later dropped.
