Laid-off? GTAM Members looking-out.....???

Well I just got a PM from a member who's friend is looking for a job and have already given him the info he needs. Whether this results in a job for his friend or not..........this thread didn't end up being "useless"

Cheers!

I didnt say the Thread was useless

i said half the posts in it, are

I meant to say post, not thread......
you said 50% of the posts are useless etc.
this is not a thread to discuss unions etc.

All this right after my post about unions. Like I said before, if a member's friend gets a job out of it (his friend happens to be in my union) then the point of this thread was accomplished and my post about unions was what got the member to PM me.

That's all.

Our unofficial union slogan.

"Big or small.......we lay 'em all"

Same with most conversations, and most attempts at finding a job.

Doesn't bother me that much if things go off topic, as long as there's a designated thread for people to go and find something useful...Even if they have to sift through a lot of BS to get there.

here is another posting for job:

I'm looking for work.

Been in transport/warehousing my whole life.

Spent years driving, forklifting (reach/counter/etc), and finally in the office doing quality management and supervising. Deal with ISO documention (writing & enforcing), developing strategies fro CAR compliance, managing our forklift budget, implementing the Shockwatch system, created and managed the freight imaging program, etc.

I have worked for the same company for 16 years now.. yikes..

I officially gave my 2 weeks notice this past friday and begin my new job on August 24.

Looking forward to the change. I also work in Logistics, dealing with supply chain for a large retailer (warehousing, distribution, fleet management etc) and will now be working with a specialized freight company. Whew... Can't wait.

I Heard The Cosco Depot in Brampton started a weekend shift so they're 7 days a week
Having to pull people in on Sundays at time and a half plus 4 hours paid shift premium just to keep up

Maybe you could see if they're hiring

What about people who want new jobs? Changing jobs from their current one.

Wouldnt that be kind of helpful too?
ie workopolis and monster being open to so many applications, this would be kind of a closer smaller community?

Like a new thread or something... good or bad idea?
