Yesterday was a ton of fun for sure.
That's good to hear! How's the shoulder feeling?

There was a guy on a hypermotord setup that was super fast until the back stretch. Must suck having a 450cc thumper (think it was a Yamaha) and watching everyone pull away from you in the back straight only to catch up with them again just before the next straight.

Oh dear... don't insult a Yamaha by calling it a Hypermotard. LOL
Yes, it is frustrating being on an underpowered bike on long straights. ;)

Chicken strip on right is just about gone (maybe 1/8" left)... should I push it that last 1/8" on the tire or lower the rear sets until I get more accustomed to bike? Knee dragging isn't everything, but simply don't want to run out of tire.

I have bigger chicken strips that that on my SV right now. Once the strip is gone you still have loads of tire left. Think of it this way, the pros use the same tires as us, and lean way farther and push way harder, and don't crash very often. Tires are the least of our worries.

Motor ran pretty well I think... again, thanks for the all the help guys!!

No prob Tim. Did it feel like it had the same kind of power as your old one? How's the pipe, still quiet(er)?

I had lots of fun on Sunday. Thanks to Tim, Dan and Steve for all your help! This is a great group of pepole to ride with and I'm very glad to have found you all here!! I'm still chicken out there but having fun :)

Shoulder's a wee bit stiff today, but not too bad. Was feeling a bit strained towards the end the day, so I pitted 2-3 laps before anyone else on our KW group's last session (we all skipped the last one).

Ok, Ok... Should have called other bike SuperMoto, not HyperMotard... insert foot into mouth. Blech. Think your SV would have more power than that supermoto did though.

Good to know about tires - I figured that there's really not a whole lot left after the edge of the tire has been reached. Shows you what I know. Pros are using a higher end tire than most of us without slicks and tire warmers, but I still understand what you're getting at.

Pipe is still a bit quieter than it was before. After taking off that mid pipe and seeing how it was welded etc, I'm very much thinking about sourcing out a stock setup and going to a 2 can setup as was originally intended (probably after market cans though) on those bikes. All that pressure through that pipe setup has to be effecting it in a negative manner. Otherwise, yeah, it felt very much the same as the other one, except the acceleration was down a bit due to stock gearing (old one had -1 front) -- thinking about doing the -1/+2 thing. Use my credit at Z's on a new, longer chain.

Was trying out some advice from Steve about running just about the whole (except for back straight) in 3rd gear. Bogged a bit in a few spots, and was very piggish coming out of last corner onto back straight. Had to down shift to 2nd after the right kink before the turn to get any sort of drive off the corner into the straight.

Before you buy the chain try to fit -1/+2. It might fit and save you $100. That's definitely the way to go with gearing for the short tracks.

Csbk Pro600 must use DOT Supercorsa tires, it's in the rules, and lots of racers in SOAR and RACE use DOTs. Where do you think all the race scrubs come from?

Guess I can try that.. stock gearing puts the chain adjustment almost all the way to the front. Have maybe 3/8" of adjustment left (moving to the front) at most.

And here's a video from GB on Sunday.

Nice video. Stylin' with the matching bike and leathers :) If I were asked to critique your riding position I would say work on getting your chest closer to the tank. You're sitting very upright. I did the same when I started track riding. Try not to hang off so far that you're outside arm goes much beyond 90° (getting low to the tank helps with this) because you start to lose control on the bars the farther you go.

Going -1 on the front gains a fair bit of chain slack, I think you'll be okay with the chain you have. What # of teeth are your sprockets right now?

Thanks for the critique Dave. Will definitely work on getting lower and moving my arm into proper position.

Stock gearing is 17/40. I have the -1 for the front, maybe I'll be able to find a half decent used one from somebody who changed the gearing on their GSXR1000 (same bolt and chain pattern as the SV1000, except it's stock rear has 42 teeth).

It will likely get easier to get lower once your strength is back to 100%.

Wow, 17! Forget -1, go -2. Front sprockets are cheaper than rears.

First video will follow shortly. Tried a new editing program , won't let me add music so I'm still on the hunt for another one. Michelle this one is for u, u were on my ass like glue so I think you'll like this one. I timed us at around 1:12 per lap, not too shabby at all.

Next video up.... Starring Dan in the rear view cam until he gets bored and blows past me.

Can you check off YouTube that allows iPhone access? Says owner hasn't set up for mobile devices.

Bored at the beach today and trying to watch your guys racing Vids. Lol

Sent from my iPhone. (not while I was riding)

Won't let me. Have some music in the video and it's telling me it disabled mobile viewing due to it. Sorry!

@timmy. No worries buddy.

@dan thx buddy. Looked amazing. So your new track bike is it a liter bike?

Nice videos guys. Wish I could have been there.

I stopped putting music in my videos because of those copyright limitations... plus I prefer just to hear the bikes. :)

again, a broken record, I might be out, haven't got my forks back from freakeguy
