Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Hey Dan, just looking at the schedule and TMP doesn't have the July 1st long weekend listed this year... :( I'm looking ahead to Grand Bend on Saturday July 14th. Think you'll be ready by then?

Next trackday here is Shanny on the 18th, I'm not riding...did one day there and said "F this!", can't stand that grass or concrete patches. We'll be camping at Sandbanks during the weekend, and then trackday on the monday....I'll be there with my camera. I didn't take a ton of shots at TMP since I brought my little card, thought that the pro photographer was going to be there, and didn't want to step on toes. Anyways, Shanny..18th...got my camera, will take pics :)

Edit: Here are some from TMP on Thursday, I'll keep adding more:

That sucks wish we could get something earlier. The 14th is gonna be close, that's 11 days so it should be pretty close. I'll know closer to that date but I'd say most likely I'll be able to do it.

You've been spoiled by 'bogie! :) See you at Shannonville. Can't wait to see more shots from Thursday, they look great!

looking forward to seeing everyone at SMP, Yamaha Girl, will they let you in the infield to take pics? turn 5 is mint, so is the turn after the fabi straight

I like the turn 6/7 combo. Long time on the left side for good shots, and a good passing zone into 7 (that's a heads up Randy LOL ) :)

So it's pretty quiet here... I expected a flurry of messages after the great day at Grand Bend yesterday. How did it go everyone?

didn't see a lot of #817's coming by me at TMP dave ;)

This is my track riding for the week ;)

Very nice! I got on two wheels briefly this weekend when my neighbour let me take his RM-Z250 up and down the street. :)

Hahah awesome!

Jenn actually laughed at me and I quote "you're actually going to ride that thing? It doesn't have a motor!"

haha.... very nice :) We'll have to head to the Hydrocut when it dries up a bit.

Sunday was amazing bike ran like a top. Gearing commander put me around 225 km/hr on the back stretch (197 km/hr on the sv1000) with a best lap time of the day at 1:02... Compared to my previous 1:17 on the same track last time ( I think ) not sure if we ran the bus stop (???) in the afternoon or not. Everyone rode very well, 3 crashes but none from our green group. I gotta get a lap timer, prolly easier then trying to watch video and get lap times. If I can find a descent video editor I'll put the video up on YouTube.

I believe they have a track photographer, so I would not be able to...and I'm not a fan of sitting in the infield, they don't let you on and off the track. If you are there, you're there for hours.

Yeah, Flair Photo has a permanent booth there. The last few times I've been there I haven't seen Jack though. They won't kick you out for taking photos though.

Nice, sounds good! It was the Modified Track yesterday, wasn't it? Last time we did Technical in the morning and Screaming Alien in the afternoon. Both are longer than Modified. I think Randy said they did Modified and Long on the Saturday (his 300km endurance track day, haha).

Ya it was modified .. So now I'm not so impressed with my time lol I think I may have been slower lol. Ya modified is good but it's really fast only one 90 degree turn so u could fly though the rest of the track. I loved the technical track I'd love to see them run that on the 14 th .. Gotta love the tight turns. Steve was blowing by all of us ... As usual lol only guy in green with warmers and slicks :)

Yesterday was a ton of fun for sure.
Dan was riding hard and was passing just about everyone in the green group.
GSXR Girl rode really really well too. We just have to get her to shift that butt of hers a little more and she'll be rockin' it.
Steve, well, he was Steve. ;-) And yes, he was smoking all of us on his fancy slicks and tire warmers...

There was a guy on a hypermotord setup that was super fast until the back stretch. Must suck having a 450cc thumper (think it was a Yamaha) and watching everyone pull away from you in the back straight only to catch up with them again just before the next straight.

Had a few issues with my GoPro yesterday, so I didn't get any good forward video.. just the rearward one (most backwards, one facing butt-cam) and another facing rearward on the front fairing (left side) to catch my body position. Butt-cam shows I'm moving my fat behind around enough, but I have to get my upper body shifting more. Chicken strip on right is just about gone (maybe 1/8" left) and I haven't touched a knee yet (although Dan has video where it's about an inch above). Thinking it's the high position of the rear sets.
What do you guys think - should I push it that last 1/8" on the tire or lower the rear sets until I get more accustomed to bike? Knee dragging isn't everything, but simply don't want to run out of tire.

Motor ran pretty well I think... again, thanks for the all the help guys!!

Don't worry about the knee leave the rearsets high, you still have lots of tire and do not want to drag a peg. The knee will come with time, I only touched my knee down on the left before the back straight at GB.
