Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

GSXR Girl, the Canyon Dancer is in my car. If you want to borrow it, let me know, we can meet somewhere for delivery. :)

Kohlarbonez, the foot pegs are in my car, ready for Friday pickup. :)

Thanks Dave !!! That would be awesome !! I am going to Tim's tomorrow for a coolant change - maybe you could give him the canyon dancer when he sees you tomorrow and I can get it from him. If not, I can stop by and pick it up sometime on Saturday if you are home :)

you don't want to do a coolant flush at the track, it can be messy, and time consuming. You'll need to get the motor warm enough so the thermostat opens (manual will say what temp), which takes time, things are hot, you have to go slow, so you do not get burned with coolant. It takes quite a few cycles to get all of the coolant out. its a simple process. pm me your location, might be able to give you a hand saturday, depending on how far you are from me. I'm up in waterloo

getting coolant out of your resevoir can be tricky (its a pain on the CBR), if you need a siphon pump, I've got one.

Hey Randy, thanks for the offer and all the advice!! I'm going to Tim's for the coolant change on Friday - so should be good. I think Steve might be able to show me how to load the bike on Saturday, I hope - I think that is my biggest fear now. Don't want to drop the gsxr...

To track the Buell on Sunday or not to track the Buell on Sunday... that is the question....
Would be like Driving Miss Daisy... nice and careful not to bin it...

Yes yes yes! I'm going to be careful with my gsxr too!

few incidents, someone binned it in the first group, turn 1 of lap 1, pinned it down to turn 1, the track was greasy in the morning without heat in the tires. Bit of pooling water on the track in the AM made for some scary slides on the slicks. Few guys ran outta room (not from our group), but were ok. I almost got hit going into 1 with a guy that was trying to be a hero, he had a few other questionable passes. One guy lost a chain on the track, insanely lucky not to have a massive crash. One guy in our group blew up his oil cooler, had a pan of oil and left some on the race line which took a while to clean up. Lucky he brought a spare bike (no really, he had 2). Machine is ok after the incident, crash looked pretty damaging, but hardly any on the bike really. surprising how bad it wasn't. I feel bad because I had the go pro tailing him right on his rear taking a different line around the oil slick clean up, looks like he just lost concentration for a split second, or was surprised I was really close to him. He tried a shortcut across the kink and got a tank slapper. Everyones ok, bike just has a bent rearset and damaged peg, otherwise its ok. Later in the day a wall of water came towards the track like a hurricane at 4 pm, it was crazy going one way down the track and its sunny, and the otherway is just black with lighting and a wall of water.

Everybody have fun today ? No crashes I assume ... Who won the battle randy ... U or Dave ? Lol I'm
Curious to see some of these pictures.

What are you talking about? I wasn't at the track today. ;)

No prob, yeah I'll pass it along with Tim tomorrow. :)

On a side note dave I gotta change my tires any chance on bringing them by before Sunday ? If not I'll do a shop but prefer not too

Edit

Just need to change the front one picking it up tonight.

Hey Dan. I can't really do it... when we bought the changer we talked about this and decided it would be best not to change tires for others and risk any kind of liability.

i can change tires if you want on saturday, I don't ahve one of those fancy machines, but have the tools required. Tim whats the status of the bike, does it still need wrenching?

If you want dan, come by and pick up the trailer and we can do your tires at the same time, I prefer the AM if your around

Hey...
Bike still needs some wrenching. Motor covers (left and right) are off right now. Was ripping it all down to drop the motor when Steve thought it would be fun to see what happened to the new motor we installed. The Oil Pump Drive Gear was completely missing. Clutch screws were finger tight. So, obvious that somebody was in there before.

Going to try to get some new gaskets today, if not, then clean it the casings as best I can with a razor blade and slap it back together. Had the oil cooler, frame sliders and a whack of other stuff off already that I'll start putting back on later this afternoon before Michelle swings by.

So, with a "Hail Mary Full of Grace", Suzi will be track ready for Sunday!

Oh yeah - with the Trailer -- looks like we'll be towing with my truck. Dan - if you want, you can come get my truck, pick up the trailer, load your bike, come back to mine so I can load Suzi. We can leave the truck/trailer backed into my driveway, and I can come get you Sunday morning.

Hey Tim, sounds good. I guess they scavenged that part and forgot to note it on the motor. Terrible... so you just stole it from your other motor?

About the gaskets, it will not seal with no gasket, period. You could us ultra-black gasket maker but that sometimes makes it really hard to get covers off later. You'd better get one on the horn with Tri-City, Performance Cycle, 2 Wheel, etc, asap and see if anyone has gaskets in stock.

Yup... stole the drive gear from the other motor.
Going to call the dealers shortly. Gaskets i have are still usable, but would prefer new ones. Steve has some magic goo that's an amazing gasket maker, and we'll be using that.

I think you still have my gasket maker still too, works well

No serious crashes, someone here (I won't mention names!) decided to cut the grass just a bit...

Hey - yea, that one could have been much worse. (Could have been better too). The video is pretty cool actually... it goes, runoff-curb-tank slapper-rodeo-superman-endo-head impact-then some tumbling/dirt/track/grass. The bike faired very well, just the rear-set bent, and a few more scuffs. I'll need a new helmet, and some patches in my suit. Othwerwise - great day at the track.

29 feels like 35 on Sunday ... Lots of water is prolly a good idea lol can't wait to try out the new rocket :)

Dave - thanks for the canyon dancer! I'll make sure I return it to you early next week :)

No problem at all. It's actually Jawad's but mine is in his trailer LOL... If you need it for the 18th at Shannonville you can hang onto it. We normally don't need them.
