Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

track or street? This is just my opinion, I had the BT15's and really did not like them at all. Rosso 2's are street tires, not really aimed at the track, if just running them in the wet, they would be a good choice, but it wouldn't be my choice for a dry tire. can't comment on the conti's. Personally I love Q2's, but wear hard on a high HP bike, although well priced. Can't comment on the Metzeler's. the DRC's are a good tire comparable to the Q2, I find the Q2 grippier and gives better feedback, the DRC will give you a bit more mileage, and is slightly higher priced.

If you do pick something up, consider the 55 height tires instead of the 50's for the track, they just make tip in easier, at the cost of straight line stability.

Lol I guess I'm seeing things ... Maybe wishing for the 15 th lol. I work till 130 on Friday night do I may just leave from work and try to crash there for a few hours.

On another note I'm gonna need tires. Here's what I've come up with.

Bridgestone bt016
Diablo Rosso 2
Conti sport attack
Dunlop q2
Metzler sportec m5
Maybe ... Diablo rosso corsas

Anyone recommend any of those ? I've ridden the q2 they're pretty good. I would love the supercorsas but even with scrubs for the front I'm way over budget. The rosso corsas would be the same price as the supercorsas with scrubs so i know which way I'll go on that lol.

I have leaned that Cayuga is open this Sunday so I'm kinda rushing. I may even use a q2 in the rear and a supercorsa in the front ( maybe lol ) as my sv has the q2 on it.....

Decisions decisions decisions

These tires will be for the track bike.

Made it easy on myself ... Supercorsa lol done and done.

The only comment I was going to make was not to mix brands. They tend to have drastically different profiles and construction which can make the bike handle weird since the front and rear won't agree on geometry while turning.

good choice on the supercorsas, unlike dave I somtimes mix pirelli's and dunlops, with similar orientations, i.e. Q2 and DRC's, without issue, not usually on the track, sometimes on the street. If you do that however, just make sure whatever is in the front has equal or more grip than the rear.

Sunday anyone else interested in TMP?

Might be. Checking finances..
Talked to Jin (Spyradar) and Michelle, who have both expressed interest in going as well... not sure of their commitment level, but the possibility has piqued their interest.

Bank book says no go for me this weekend...
Stupid house insurance...
Stupid fridge on death bed...

Any other days people are going to BEFORE July 14 (the day Randy, Jin, another someone who we're working on, Gary and his buddy) are leaving for the Dragon...

Maybe Thursday, July 5 at TMP???

Sunday June 24th, no can do.
Thursday July 7th, there is a possibility. I need to get my shock to John Sharrard ASAP. I'm going to have to get up early tomorrow to get it out of my bike and shipped out before the end of this week.

monday, July.9 is a SMP hosted lapping day, weekend before is cars, so it likely will not be busy. Something to think about. $140 + hst, lunch included

Hmm... that is something to think about. SMP hosted days are usually very empty, and they usually run the official timing trailer so you can rent a transponder if you don't have a lap timer.

And yeah, I meant Thursday 5th.

I had Freakguy call me saying they gave him the wrong seals, so now it will be going on 3 weeks. If i knew it would take this long i would have just done it my self now that i have some free time.. oh well, you live you learn.
